Re: First Cave pcb to own
Personaly I'd say DeathSmiles I and II are by far the weakest arcade games by Cave, can't stand that loli **** and I don't enjoy having to steer the satellite in that counterintuitive way all the time.jimmerd wrote: April 5th, 2025, 2:26 pm Also worth considering if rather than going for pcbs, getting an Exa arcade. eg DoDonPachi or Crimson Kantana and apparently more Cave titles on the way. The games tend to feature additional modes and it's what is current in arcades at the moment also then you have access to newer ex cave member developed games like Aka & Blue, and if collection is an aspect for you then still have the 'arcade' kit/cartridge or even the limited edition Exa Cave motherboards are very hard to find now.
Can't go wrong with a Deathsmiles pcb, everybody loves that game even non cave fans.
Re: Exa, if emulation is acceptable for him, he can get a PC or RPi setup, no need to spend thousands of bucks on an "EXA system", which (from a private consumer's perspective) is just a stupidly overpriced PC...
+1. I don't have recalbox jamma, but I've been using an RPI4 with an RGB Dual on my CRT TV and the consoles it emulates hardly get any play any more. It's an extremely nifty system, and I have no doubt the team that came up with it knew what they were doing when they designed the recalbox jamma adapter.darkcrono wrote: April 20th, 2025, 9:42 am Or have a Raspberry 5 with recalbox jamma adapter, that's top notch

Re: First Cave pcb to own
Tricky question!
But, I’d recommend:
- Mushihimesama (fantastic art, OST and level and enemy design)
- Esprade (futuristic fantasy at its best)
- Espgaluda (everything is great in this game)
