ESPGaluda
ESPRade
Mushi Futari 1.5

Is there any noted difference between Esprade Japan and international versions?

I will never argue against that.

There are ways to play xbox360 ports on arcade ofcourse.
If PCB prices in the range of $5000 and beyond scare you id say its the way to go, its frankly a superior product in many cases for a fraction of the cost.

I believe the hand animation on the title screen is only on the Japanese version.

Fun, but certainly not worth paying a premium for (in my opinion).

So what do you recommend as a first PCB?

Esprade is still a great choice. But if you find a JP and an International both for sale, I’d go with the cheapest (depending on condition of course!).

I’m not saying don’t go for that game, just that there’s no point paying more for a JP PCB just for that title screen animation…

Also worth considering if rather than going for pcbs, getting an Exa arcade. eg DoDonPachi or Crimson Kantana and apparently more Cave titles on the way. The games tend to feature additional modes and it's what is current in arcades at the moment also then you have access to newer ex cave member developed games like Aka & Blue, and if collection is an aspect for you then still have the 'arcade' kit/cartridge or even the limited edition Exa Cave motherboards are very hard to find now.

Can't go wrong with a Deathsmiles pcb, everybody loves that game even non cave fans.

Of cause no one can give you an answer what’s the best game for you, but Espgaluda is the easiest game in the series and the scoring system is most fun. Deathsmiles and Mishi 1.5 are also manageable games whit different difficulty levels and straight forward scoring systems. Ketsui and DOJ are the toughest I played, 1CC and scoring wise.
If you should buy a kit? Is a peace of cardboard and art worth 1000€ or more?

My first Cave PCB was ESPRade btw. I had the XBOX360 Box already and since there was no port of the game it came naturally.

Here you can get 3 Cave games for 280, can´t get more affordable.

I don't really understand why it has to be "cave PCB". It's not like that are all THAT alike. Take a progear and ibara for example, both "cave pcb" and both completely different. Can't you just buy something you enjoy instead of "cave PCB" ?

I really enjoy ESP.rade for it's design and different gameplay. It was also my first Cave PCB.

Besides that Espgaluda and Mushi Futari are great. I'd say Mushi Futari is superior and has the most variation in all of the different modes. Alas I "only" have the Another Version pcb but it's so good anyway.

Also, there's a lot of Cave titles on the Switch which I frequently boot up when I need to scratch that itch for a bried moment.

Start with Progear... Its one of the cheaper titles and very rewarding and satisfying to play..
I think grab what you can at the price you can afford, things have got out of control now and full mint kits are getting harder to find and will cripple you financially! 😩

Progear, Esp Ra. De, Dodonpachi (OG) are all you need i think.

I mean I love Ketsui, and Mushi, and the rest, but in that 3 you get all the best of CAVE.

Ibara is my personal favorite because I prefer Raizing to Cave but Esp.Ra.De would be my number two. Strong agree with what @ChrisBEANS said about it.
