I have to say, the game feels really good. So far I've spent 5 hours just trying out stuff in practise mode. Haven't touched story mode yet. Saving that as a hot date for the evening.
The kurrent krop of MK games; MKX, MK11 and MK1, have extensive kontroller settings. You can set special moves to include diagonals, if you prefer doing quarter circles instead of tapping down and then forward, for example. You can also turn off negative edge, so that button releases won't register as potential inputs for special moves. And you can even choose between three settings for how long the window is for special move inputs in the parser.
On the first day the game was available for premature ejakulatorz like me, I gathered three gamepads to test my might and see which is the best one for me in this partikular title. I played MKX with a Series X pad and also fooled around with a Hori Octa as well, and they were fine. Initially I had four pads in the pile, but one of them mid 00s Saturn USB pads don't seem to work with MK1, so I was only left with a rigid DS4, a clicky Series X and the sensitive Octa. They all felt good in their own way. Spent roughly an hour with each one. I usually don't change kontrollers like socks, but you see, the reason I went with pads was my past experience of trying to play modern MK with a full Sanwa setup. It never felt right. The games were simply designed for the default konsole kontrollers. So just for **** and giggles, I tried using a stick this morning, as soon as I woke up. It was ready. Lo and behold, it didn't feel awful at all. I turned off negative edge because I like to do really fast motions when jerking my stick around furiously, and quickly came... to a realisation that I didn't need the pads. It's not that time of the month anyway.
Being able to play with a full Sanwa kit made me decide to write all this **** to tell you gits to try this game. No joke.

<-how do you like my kombat kode?
