Nah, you can deffo disable it. I’ve done it on mine.
I can’t remember exactly how, but I’ll look it up and let you know
To be clear, I’m not saying you can’t disable it but that if you don’t and store long term, it can permanently brick your 4200.

Hmmm. That sounds like a colossal flaw…

I bought an MX8000 recently, with a pin, hadn’t been used in years, and it was fine.

Want me to send you a remote, see if you can get it going?

Thanks for the offer bud :) As I said before though, I had and still have several remotes but have since passed the TV on. The info I have came from a B&O engineer. He could be wrong of course but from my understanding its quite a common problem. The 4200 has different internals to the other MX4000 series. Bugger to work on apparently.

Ah, sorry. Totally misunderstood, thought you had the TV and no remote.
If that info came from a B&O engineer, I’d assume he knows at least a little more about B&O TVs than me :lolno:

I’ll shut up now. Sorry.

Right. I ‘think’ if using the Beolink 1000 remote… you press ‘menu’, the left arrow (or rewind) twice, then stop

From there, you can change, or delete the PIN.

I’ll actually confirm this was what I did when I’m back with the TV later. I’m sure that’s right though…

Will give it a try, it’s a 4200 that has a pin - just a hassle to input each time I turn on.

Thanks 😊 will let you know how it goes.

Confirmed to work on an MX8000 with firmware 1.6…

Hopefully it’ll be the same on the 4200??

GONE
Retrogamingcables packapunch MD2 RGB SCART

I struggled to get a reliable connection with this at the MD end. Even filed down the outer shield a bit to try and make it better. A new cable worked fine from the start. Might be okay, might need a new connector

Just pay postage (3.39?)

3x defective PS2 Tatacon controllers for Taiko no Tatsujin (I only have one pair of plastic bats or whatever you call those things you use to hit the drums, though) - they still work but only register like every third hit. I have one original box, too, if anybody wants that (it'll probably raise shipping costs, though).
Repairing them seems to be quite simple, there's tutorials on youtube, but I can't be bothered since we're moving house.
gone/ only one tatacon controller (+ box) left, get it while it's hot!

J-pac Ultimarc, PS/2-version, new, comes with a PS/2-cable gone!
