The facial recognition is a hell of a gamble.
There's bound to be a non-story about something as there is with most iPhone releases, like antenna-gate and bend-gate.

The only reason I'm using the fingerprint sensor on my V20 is that it's in exactly the spot I place either of my index fingers when I'm holding the phone. Not for security, simply as an easy unlock preventing pocket based accidents.

Facial recognition seems like a bloody wrecking ball to crack a nut.

It's spend-gate as far as I'm concerned.

I appreciate you get a lot of tech in a small device and the camera alone brings a lot of practical value, but at a grand I'm well past being able to justify that to myself.

The good thing is you get a great cheap iPhone a few generations behind.

Before selling it on to Music Magpie I managed to unlock my iPhone 7 with a ball print. Bet that wouldn't work with facial recognition.

As for camera I find I'm using the wide angle lens an awful lot, fish eye distortion and all.

By the time I membered and went to pre order this morning it was at 6 weeks +.

I set a reminder on my iPhone 7 for 6am ages ago but didn’t get a notification this morning, almost as if it didn’t want to be replaced

Separately, I just discovered by accident that with iOS 11 you can now set a different double tap function for the L and R AirPods 8-)

Got my X. Absolutely love it. Great screen, lightning fast and after about 5 minutes of use the home button seems like a relic I couldn’t imagine going back to. Swipe-up is so intuitive and having all this extra screen to play with on a phone with a footprint barely larger than me iPhone 6 is fantastic. Haven’t set up Face ID yet.

My MBP late 2015 suffers from Staingate. :(

But I'm getting the screen replaced for free. :awe:

I'll ask here because I don't want to ask in a specialised forum yet.

What would you recommend as the mostest powarful PC graphics card that does VGA? Or can I go with something that does DVI-I and use an adapter with that?

EDIT: Nevermind, DisplayPort to VGA will work. I'll go with that.

EDIT 2: Nevermind the nevermind, DP to VGA only goes up to 1080p. :problem:

apple are replacing iPhone X screens, for free, due to intermittent touchscreen issues.

You can get a new battery for £25 too up until the end of the year
