iPad folk, is there a way to prevent kids from setting the volume too high? Can't check myself because the kid screams if I touch the iPad, so I need to be fast...

As far as I can remember the volume limit's for headphones only, not the speakers. I'm sure there'll be an app or something though but that means clawing it back for as long as it takes to download it
Edit: There's one here https://appsto.re/gb/auCKT.i" but it's £1.99

a quick slap on the **** and some 'downtime' in their bedroom might distract them for a while, might even learn them who is in charge... Limiting it for headphones will do. The kid is veryveryvery special and on his way to ruining his hearing for good. Where do I find the setting?

Settings > Music > Volume limit
I can't test it myself at the mo but maybe it does work for the speakers too

This doesn't cover cracked front glass, right? Maybe I should ask around about my broken iPhone 6 front glass...kernow wrote:Took it into the apple shop and they said they'd repair it for free as it was under warranty. Come back in 90 minutes.

Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
I guess this only applies to iTunes and such. The kid likes to watch cartoons while wearing headphones. He has the volume at max so that the whole house can hear what he is watching. He already has down's which makes him difficult, but a deaf kid with down's would be even worse...crunchywasp wrote:Sorry to keep you hanging brah

It seems to have worked. The kid is complaining that he can't hear a thing. Success!

Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
Does anyone have any experience of these mobile wifi hotspot thingies? So a 3G/4G device that you connect your tablet to via WiFi to get mobile data.
Have been on both the o2 and EE websites (as those are the only networks that have decent coverage where I live) and they do one for £29 and £49 respectively. A mobile data SIM on it's own is much cheaper though, so I'm wondering if I can buy a device seperately.
The other thing is they give you a price with some bundled data, but the crafty buggers don't volunteer how much you'll have to pay to top up once you run out
