I was going to post that. 27" will also be up for pre-order with a longer wait time.

Sad **** that I am, I've been checking at regular intervals. Definitely not buying one. Definitely.

Going by the current iUsd/iGbp rate, upgrade costs on the 27 will be...

+ £120 to bump up to the GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB :awe:
+ £200 for the 'fusion drive' (120GB ssd added to the standard 1TB. 3TB would be another £120) :problem:
+ £160 for i7 3.4ghz :-|
+ £1050 for a 768GB ssd :lolno:

I paid £220 for a 512GB. If I can open it up and put that one in I'll buy.

Redesigned iTunes just came out. From the feature list, improvements seem mostly store-centric plus an overdue mini-player. It doesn't mention much about file management, which is the main issue we all have with itunes - maybe this has been improved with the sort of subtle ui changes and under the hood stuff which isn't worth a mention in the feature list? Maybe. :)

I don't tend to use itunes much, but I'm keen to hear if anyone thinks it's improved. It's always hard to gauge an unbiased opinion of apple software. It's hard to filter out the blind hate and blind love.

Nope. On my MBP 13", the SSD is a regular one I can change myself, and it's still insanely priced.

Leech.... Downloading iTunes 11, can't wait to try it.
Tried it, love it. Simple but effective minor updates, overall updated user experience, well done. :awe:

Nah that's the hdd. The ssd is one of those blade thingamywotsits. I just remembered, last years imacs needed a custom drive with firmware temperature control or it'll spin the fans right up to maximum. On previous models you could just short a wire, but not anymore - you'd need either customised drive firmware (ocz offer this) or a blade>sata adapter if/when they become available.

So a DIY ssd is doable, just not completely straightforward. At least you can open it up though, apple haven't welded it shut just yet.
