University of London link:
http://store.apple.com/uk_edu_5000837"

Or choose a different uni
http://www.mikewilson.cc/2010/08/18/how ... nt-though/"

I've done this a few times now and never been asked any questions. If I was asked then I'm ordering it on someone else's behalf.

Today they have black Friday discounts and the ipads and ipods are cheaper than the higher education discount. For everything else such as Macs, HE site all the way. You also then get other free stuff in the summer and cheaper (BTO) upgrade prices too.

Edit: The other thing worth knowing is that computer orders made through the education link receive a complementary 3 year warranty so that also saves you a couple of hundred on applecare.

Am I missing something here? It's £368 on the main store site? :eh:

What I mean is, the price is the same on the education site as on the main, is it not...?

It is today because of the Black Friday thing. Usually it's a few percent cheaper at £387 instead of £400. iPods and phones aren't included in education discounts at all.

The main saving with the HE store is on macs: ~15% cheaper (possibly a further 3% through cashback sites), free extended warranty, and a free printer and vouchers in the summer. It adds up to around £500 saving on a spend of about £1200.
