Cheers jase, yeah the bracket came out nice. I know what you mean you can probably tell I'm a bit like that too
My monitor mask wasn't bad at just a couple of very small hairline cracks that you can barely see and they were on the curves and did'nt reach the edges maybe 15-20mm in length, but Craig only had one left in stock so I thought if I didn't bag it now I may not have chance to get anothert NOS one in the future.
As I reported in my last post I've had my first set back with the cab, well in fact two of the little buggers
Thankfully I have some good news today, one of the problems has now been solved.
The first problem was when I fired the cab up the splash screen appeared then the screen went black for a second or two and I got the following error message
I/O BOARD ERROR
NO JAMMA I/O BOARD
I had checked my voltages and connections and everything seemed to be fine so after a fair few hours of messing about with it I came to the conclusion that my I/O boeard was broken.
I did a lot of trawling on the web to very little avail and started a help thread, but TBH I still wasn't really any wiser. So I decided to buy another I/O board and thechop came to the rescue.
After looking looking at my I/O with a fresh pair of eyes something stuck me. I realised that I had rebuilt my cab using my photos for reference. So I had put everything back exactly as it was when I got it. But what if it wasn't wired correctly when I got it. TBH I thought mine was pretty much untouched but I also discovered on Thursday that my transformer has been butchered and some wiring has been ripped out so I can't hook it up to my sound amp board. Now with this in mind did a little more googleing
I now found some interesting info on Andy Geezers site.
Heres how my I/O was wired before I touched it
After I cleaned it you can see I put everything back exactly where it came from
Now as you can see (bottom left of the I/O board) the 5pin JST NH connector, 2 white & 2 red wires (12V Power in) was connected to CN2 which is (12V Power out), but I found on Andy Geezers site that (12V Power in) should in fact have been connected to CN1. I'm pretty sure that one way or another this explains the fubar.
The replacemt I/O arrived from the chop today. I wired everything up correctly this time and bingo
Now I still have the issue of no sound but at least that's I problem solved.
This is what's going into the transformer
This is what's coming out of the transformer
As you can see 2 black and 2 red wires have been ripped out, why? why just not leave them where they were if they were surplus to requirement.
Anyway I'm on the look out for a replacement transformer, I've posted a wanted thread both here and on J+ but if anyone has one spare or knows where I can get one from please, please let me know.
