I've an unconnected white 8 pin connector to the left of the CP where the controls/speakers etc are connected & a white 4 pin connector at the coin mech. I don't know what either of these are for! :spam:
Thanks for looking for me buddy, I have a feeling I may have read somewhere that maybe 1 or all of the are for extra speaker/ sound amp or summat but I might have imagined that.

I'm sure someone will know

 I may go down that route if we don't get any sun.

Today I got new locks and fitted those. A new monitor mask but I'll change that another day, sticks and a cpo :D

I popped the plastics back on and fired her up. Now I was a little nervous as this is the first time I've turned it on since I started the resto, although I did test the mobo a few weeks ago. The spash screen appeared so I thought eveything was good. Unfortunately I got a I/O error so after many wasted hours I think my I/O is probably kaput :( I started a thread in the tech section but I've messed about with it so much today that I think I must have tried everything so I'm stumped. Also I'm missing a cable to hook up my sound board so no sound either, but the splash screen looks nice  and I had a fiddle with the test mode but other than that it's been a bit of a wasted day.

The cab is looking awesome Paulie, I wish I re-sprayed my monitor support brackets know tho. I just gave them a quick clean and re-fitted them. Hmm debating whether to take it apart again now to give them a new lick of paint.

I was well chuffed with the NOS monitor mask from Craig. The old one wasn't too bad but fitting a brand new one made the whole cab look nicer. :awe:

Cheers jase, yeah the bracket came out nice. I know what you mean you can probably tell I'm a bit like that too

My monitor mask wasn't bad at just a couple of very small hairline cracks that you can barely see and they were on the curves and did'nt reach the edges maybe 15-20mm in length, but Craig only had one left in stock so I thought if I didn't bag it now I may not have chance to get anothert NOS one in the future.

As I reported in my last post I've had my first set back with the cab, well in fact two of the little buggers :(

Thankfully I have some good news today, one of the problems has now been solved.

The first problem was when I fired the cab up the splash screen appeared then the screen went black for a second or two and I got the following error message

I/O BOARD ERROR
NO JAMMA I/O BOARD
Image

I had checked my voltages and connections and everything seemed to be fine so after a fair few hours of messing about with it I came to the conclusion that my I/O boeard was broken.

I did a lot of trawling on the web to very little avail and started a help thread, but TBH I still wasn't really any wiser. So I decided to buy another I/O board and thechop came to the rescue.

After looking looking at my I/O with a fresh pair of eyes something stuck me. I realised that I had rebuilt my cab using my photos for reference. So I had put everything back exactly as it was when I got it. But what if it wasn't wired correctly when I got it. TBH I thought mine was pretty much untouched but I also discovered on Thursday that my transformer has been butchered and some wiring has been ripped out so I can't hook it up to my sound amp board. Now with this in mind did a little more googleing

I now found some interesting info on Andy Geezers site.

Heres how my I/O was wired before I touched it
Image

After I cleaned it you can see I put everything back exactly where it came from
Image

Now as you can see (bottom left of the I/O board) the 5pin JST NH connector, 2 white & 2 red wires (12V Power in) was connected to CN2 which is (12V Power out), but I found on Andy Geezers site that (12V Power in) should in fact have been connected to CN1. I'm pretty sure that one way or another this explains the fubar.

The replacemt I/O arrived from the chop today. I wired everything up correctly this time and bingo :awe:
Image

Now I still have the issue of no sound but at least that's I problem solved.

This is what's going into the transformer
Image

This is what's coming out of the transformer
Image

As you can see 2 black and 2 red wires have been ripped out, why? why just not leave them where they were if they were surplus to requirement.

Anyway I'm on the look out for a replacement transformer, I've posted a wanted thread both here and on J+ but if anyone has one spare or knows where I can get one from please, please let me know.

  glad you've got the I/O error sorted. It's looking fantastic & the screen looks ace.

Hopefully you can pick up a replacement transformer and resolve that issue just as quickly.

Cheers chaps,

As you can see from the photo the CPO still has the protective film on it and man that access door is still in a bad way, but I'll be sorting that out and the top access panel shortly.

Well my wonderfully kind and talented buddy Franco has stepped up the the breach and is going to take a butchers at my poorly transformer, and if he can't sort it then I doubt anyone can, so fingers crossed :D :D :D

Also Franny is working on one his is great looms for me so I'll be able to play both Atomiswave (using the JAMMA edge connector) and Naomi (using JVS) in this bad boy soon :awe:

and finally
I got this beauty from another good buddy of mine, Mark, Thanks a lot man :D

I have 2, almost complete sets of NNC art (just missing marquees) that I picked up from Craig a little while ago so she's gonna be blingin 8-) I won't be putting the new art for a few weeks though as we should be moving house and I would be gutted if it got scratched during the move.

Hey Paulie, Been ages since checked in,
and ooh boy shes coming along nicely, This, AndyPC and one Francos Naomi Jamma Cab are my fav Naomi Restore Posts.
Keep it up and Share like you have and this THREAD will be legendary for all the visits it will get over next few weeks, months and years !!!

Its just steller!!!! You've even inspired me this weekend, I picked up a near Mint Naomi C Mission Cab last weekend to join my rusted one,
I finally took out the Tools and Removed Front Cover, Speakers cage, The CP's and more off both.

Cleaned them all, the Naomi Gun Cab's CP took me hours to clean and still nowhere like urs, other one was BLACK!!!
I was so lazy and not mood big clean for same as CP, that I went down to local Car wash and Power house the bejesus out of it.... :)
Now two clean-ish CP's, next must sort out chopping spare set of legs I have, and respraying rust CP. Urs will be my guide.

Big big thanks buddy. Cant wait to see your finished Cab. Black Artwork rocks,
I have full set too to apply once all is done!! :) 2013 at this rate :)
