Wow, what superb advice :D

With that method so far I have the following

15-inch: 2.2 GHz
2.2GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz
500GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB GDDR5
Built-in battery (7 hours)2
In Stock
Free Delivery
£1,332.00

Now I can get this for £1,200 from here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320899527861? ... _582wt_966

However when the new model comes out (hoping that it does next month) I can apply the same discounts and get it for a similar price :D

It will be amazing if they through in other things mentioned to!

As much as I want to order one right now I know I should wait - I'll see what announced next month and try not to spend my money in the meantime 8-)

Agreed. You could buy 2 higher spec PC laptops (sans Thunderbolt port) for that and still have some money left for a few sweets.

Do they have a Apple logo on them though? LOL

I really like the design of the MacBooks so don't mind paying extra

See Windows 8 Metro.
Yeah good point. But that's just the sort of drastic change i mean and I'm not sure how metro will combine with software beyond coffee table apps.

Yeah, I've only ever bought new macs right on release. The premium isn't quite as bad then. The 3 year (almost) AppleCare adds a lot of value too.

I've lost more money on PCs that's for sure. * walks away also *

Forgot to post an update on the iPhone saga...

I had another replacement and finally got one that was in 100 percent shape..
i.e. Nice bright white screen, no dents and a working vibrate that doesn't rattle the screen.

The one last issue I had was that Apple charged me for the Express Replacement service even though I had Apple Care so after another 25 minute phone call, I got a refund on that.

Overall, phone call costs for getting a new phone were in excess of £14 :wtf:

Looking forward to going through the whole thing again when the iPhone 5 comes out :D

I dunno about that either. Does look a bit cheaper really. I like the iphone 4 glass back and front design.

They do use some kinda strengthend scratch resistant glass, but I guess if they used Gorilla glass, Samsung would throw a fit and another patent war would begin :D

Does look like a big phone huh?
My mate has just got the HTC One X which is bigger than the iPhone but a bit thinner and lighter... Actually a rather nice phone. Let's hope the 5 has a similar form factor or is at least lighter than the 4s.

Not having a glass back is a really bad move IMO. One of the best features about the 4 models. I bought mine on day one, not a mark on either side and have never put any film on or anything.

I take it back, looks like it will have glass over the aluminium.

Gorilla Glass is used by Apple, they were the first to pioneer it in phones, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorilla_Glass"

My lappy has it which makes cleaning the screen worry free, quite a lot of gadgets have it now not just phones.

My Samsung Galaxy SIII has Gorilla Glass 2.

So why do they still shatter\break when you look at them ?

I guess it depends who looks at them Garg.

Yeah I thought apple pioneered gorilla glass on phones. Infact, I think I read that they couldn't find anyone supplying suitably tough glass so they found 20 year old abandoned research and funded the continuation. [edit] Doh! It's all there in Pete's link.

It's not shatterproof, it's scratchproof. I've been suitably impressed by it, and wouldn't consider a phone without it now.

I was contemplating getting a speaker dock but I reckon I will hold off now. It would be pretty upsetting if there was zero compatibility with the new phone :wtf:

Hey Apple would never do a thing like that

Seen somebody drop a iphone 4 whilst I was queuing to go on Stealth at Thrope Park, fell from quite a height & was ok, quite surprised at the time as I know a few who has not been so lucky & 150 notes later...
