@garg

Why put an Hdmi out on a device when you can force people to buy an ATV to do the exact same thing only wireless and for £100 more.

Without being cynical, apple are moving away from wires. You DL apps, music, sync, updates wirelessly. It's all sync'd without wires and backed up on iCloud. It won't be long until they have wireless charging too. The current tech wastes far too much energy, but give it time.

Yes really dumb, Make a all singing\dancing media tablet, Then don't watch your favorite movies on your big screen tv because you've got a tablet capable of displaying 2048x1536, Every sane person would want to watch movies on a 9.7-inch screen right? :lolno: :palm:

I'm not really sure what you're on about. It's just not really a movie playing device Garg. It can if you really want to, but that's way down the list of functions.

If you need a tablet/movie player with hdmi and other tablets do it then erm, get one of them then.

You could say the same thing about anything really. It also doesn't have a floppy disk drive.

If you want hdmi out, don't get an ipad. If you want to tinker with root folders then don't get an ipad. If you want to wrap a sandwich with cling film, don't get an ipad. I don't know what you want to hear garg.

Personally, I didn't order one to play movies on the TV with. I can already do that.

[edit]Erm, you can get an hdmi adapter anyway. :palm:

True but not a straight hdmi connection which in this day and age is just silly, almost as silly as not supporting flash video :yawn:

Got my one last night as the PC World down Tottenham Court Road in London opened at midnight so got my bro to get me one. Was waiting for me when I woke up this morning. Drove to work past Regent Street queue feeling rather smug. :awe:

A man with a van full woke me up at 8am. I'm amazed he didn't just keep driving until France tbh.

Zohaib Ali was the first in the queue for the Regent Street store, starting FOUR days before on Monday, with a sleeping bag and camping equipment. A serial queuer, Zohaib had been fourth in line for the 4S, and declared Apple to be "the best".
A queue of hundreds swiftly ebbed away outside the fruity tech titan's Regent Street outlet, allowing at least one punter who rocked up at 9am to grab the improved fondleslab five minutes later.

I walked past the Apple store Covent garden at 9 on the way to work and big queues, went back at 10.30 and walked straight in and picked one up.

What's the deal with the easy availability. Recession, tonnes of stock or lack of interest?
