I, biggest apple let down since the Pippin
I'll probably still end up getting the fu*king thing though
You are exactly the customer Apple is counting on
Yeah, I know. I like their phones though, not keen on most of their other gear. Maybe I should have a peek at the samsung galaxy.... Or even keep my 3 month old iPhone 4
If there is anything worse than how Microsoft force you to do everything their way, it is the **** that Apple force you to be tied into.
Their specific hardware, iTunes.. **** all of it.
Get yourself Linux and Android and you will feel a huge sense of freedom.
It's amazing, a desktop OS that will install on anything, even your USB stick.
Want an App, automatically download and install it.. for nowt.
You want to put some music on your phone, simple... copy it. How did Google come up with this stuff...?

While I agree with your sentiments, Android is not the Linux people install on their desktops. Android has it's own C library, own userland, and its kernel barely resembles Linus's kernel anymore.
It's also irresponsible to simply tell people to install Linux. Teach them and see if it really solves their problems. From my experience, nearly 100% of the time, Windows or Mac OS X is a better solution.
Full disclosure: I use FreeBSD and OpenBSD exclusively on my PCs. Because it works for me. Not because I think it would work for anyone else.
I'm definitely fully apple leotarded and I could ping their praises all day, but it's funny, I've managed to ride out without fresh apple crack for a while now. My iphone 3g that I'm typing this on is now over three years old. Never bought a case for it and it's hard to tell it's been living in my smelly pockets all this time. 3G coverage down here is too **** to bother wasting the battery life on so I'd probably still be using the original iphone if I hadn't fallen in a swimming pool with it in my pocket. ...I recently discovered it still worked after soldering in a new battery but I either shorted the battery with my crappy soldering skills or I should have spent more than the £1.25 it cost off ebay. I'm contemplating whether to treat myself to this new iphone 4S, or resurrect the original iphone and use that.
I also needed a grand more than I needed a sexy 27" imac a year ago so I downgraded to a (£300 from ebay) 2007 20" imac - the first aluminium one with the really **** TN screen - and I've never bothered upgrading back.
In the meantime, I've bought the Missus an iphone4 and one of the new macbook airs. ...Just to keep that new apple product smell in the house.
I'm still rocking a 3GS so I'll definitely upgrade. A5 and the new graphics kick everything else's **** power wise, the new camera looks mighty impressive and Siri does look like something from the future. iCloud looks like we'll finally be rid of iTunes' stupid Syncing too.
