All parts are hand crafted or laser machined ?
Making the tray for the PFX chassis was already €60 (single piece laser cut from stainless steel sheet and multiple bends) over here. When I wanted to get the wood base plate made using a CNC lath they quoted me €250 ! I was utterly disgusted and that was the end of my endeavour ...
Perhaps I should try again to find some cheaper solutions.
Sent you some data. ;)

What is the "tray"? Chassis tray?

All parts in my rot mech is hand crafted.

Only needed to get the PFX chassis mounted, that one is really big compared to the original Wei-Ya chassis.

I had something similar in the pipeline when I put my PFX in an AWSD but the price for all pieces of the mech was very high.
Do you think it would be possible to make this at reasonable cost ?
Well I dont know if you want to make many and sell, that would be a lot of work.
especially as a AWSD rotation mech is different from a E2 rot mech.

Though making one for myself wont be expensive, right now Im at the sum of $100 and only need a few more parts to finish it.
I'm interested in this too for my egret3....
If the metal parts of this are laser cutted, then maybe i can help.
Many times ago neokoen gives me his pfx chassis drawings and i manage to have it done here for only 10€,laser cutted and bended....
So maybe i could have this done for not so much.

Let me know.

Anyone on the forum that is skilled in CAD and could help out? (neoken?)

We now need these drawings to be made in CAD.

I've just got a bit more to do on the last drawing tomorrow - do you want me to save them as .dxf for you (it's a Data eXchange Format - compatible with nearly all cad programs) and send them to you?

This should be answered by member glstar, he said he could make these if he had CAD drawings in .dwg

Is this project still going on? If you make a run of these kits, I'll buy one for my awsd ;).

Absolutely, Im waiting for parts from some people to make it complete.

...though I think it will never exist a finished kit you can buy from this...it is loooaads of work from a lot of people.
But there will be instructions and drawings about how to build your own.

The prototyping cost is now at $560 ...and now everything should work.
Im going away to Japan in a week and then to Indonesia, but after that I will show you some finished pics, hopefully. :awe:

I wonder how much TAITO spent on creating the original mechanism... Just to not include it in their "next generation". :palm:

Yeah, the rot-mech is in the Egret 29 too, right?
I bet that one is very similar to the one in E2.

But for sure, it is some work just to put it together and tweak so that the screen is set in the center of the cab.
