JVS I/O board question.
IF you look at the attached image there are three female AMP connectors. I know the 12pin connectors are player one and two controls but what i the 15pin connector for?

Re: JVS I/O board question.
Its for the kick harness
The blank spaces next to the kick harness on the bottom row are for the anolog connector that goes to the I/O board but only needed for games that used anolog controllers like Monkey Ball, Zombie Revenge etc

Re: JVS I/O board question.
Cheers guys.
This is what I don't understand though. The AMP connecter in the panel is 15pin whereas the diagram shows a 10pin connector. Which one is right?
I'm designing my new panel at the moment and need to get this right.

Re: JVS I/O board question.
Ah, that makes sense
I presume some CPs would use a 15pin connector if they required the 5v and/or 12v too.

Re: JVS I/O board question.
+5 is also available from the 12pin amp connectors, and these are what are normally used to power the secondard (trackball) I/O on games like Virtua Golf/OutriggerFrancoB wrote:Ah, that makes sense

Re: JVS I/O board question.
Cheers aryssoR/andygeezer.
How much power does the JVS board need then? I (think I) was told it takes 3v. Does it transform it up to 5+12v then?

Re: JVS I/O board question.
As the wiring diagram says (
) it takes 12V and 5V and also has a 12V and 5V out

Re: JVS I/O board question.
Okay, okay. Cover me in custard and call me Susie. I WILL DL the schematics tomorrow
Thank you though sweet pea.
I see where I have got confused:
Thats fine tho as I can still supply all of that from the ATX.
I love it when a plan comes together

I didn't read the 12v and 5v when I read that before for some reason.Flazh wrote:For the record, the Sun PSU does supply the voltages to the JVS I/O board, as well as that magical 3v for JVS systems, and it is 110v only.
If you want to go down the route of taking out that massive transformer, you can actually use an ATX PSU for all your power needs. The 12v, 5v and 3v connections should nicely give you your power for JVS game boards and JAMMA (though you may have issues with particularly voltage sensitive boards as an ATX PSU isn't generally very adjustable).
