Jaleco Pony Mark III 25

People have been bugging me for some shots of the cab... so here you go!

And some test screens for the monitor whores.

Cab itself is in superb condition - the respray clearly helped with this. I've spent the past week wiring the thing up 100% (the looms had been hacked up and weren't fixed in place safely), running new mains wiring for the marquee and PSU (the power switch on the back now works, and once I get a 100v stepdown for the monitor everything will be off one plug, rather than the original 3!), and fitting new locks (all the same key - had to break in to the cab to start with too rather than wait for the keys to turn up - which wasn't too difficult as the lock for the coinbox was missing). Needs new kickplate rubber, and I've got a new CPO on order (the current one is the one I got from eBay a few months back, after a clean it's come up quite nice but I really don't think it suits the black of the cab ;))

Really pleased with it. Monitor is a gorgeous Toei chassis with Toshiba tube, and I just love the whole aesthetic of the cab. The black, the glass, the size, the angles - it kind of makes me nostalgic the way cocktail tables do. I love the way the back of the marquee lights up too. Of note, the CP is higher than a typical candy, and because of the screen angle you really need to be seated a lot higher than they can provide. Normal stools and chairs are spot on!

christ, the angle is even more extreme then the Impress (compared to a Naomi). Must be good for verts!

That's looking really sweet man. What colour CP are you going to put on it?

Taito?

Yeah, think it's going to stay vert forever. Like a Windy, tate really suits the cab.

Got a custom CPO on its way. I've stripped and sprayed the worst condition one I had ready for it :)

The Taito logo is painted on top of the marquee paint - it ain't coming off!

I have to say the pics don't do this one justice. I was a little dubious about an unoriginal colour respray until I saw it in the flesh - the black looks awesome!

Also, having lugged the **** from London all the way to Neath, I can attest to the fact that it is easy to maneuveur, can be isted easily and fits through every door. The perfect house cab.

I reckon Cools should pair it with a nice hori astro and shun the 29 inch cabs altogether!

You mean Aero, I suspect. Massive thanks for the transport effort, shame your satnav went nuts on the way here :)

An Aero wouldn't gain me anything over the E2 for hori stuff - once the CP is off it's actually smaller than the Aero!

Nope, if I'm to get anything else it'll be a dedicated MVS. I quite like the Neo 25...

Definitely one of my favorite cabinets. Everything about it looks so 80s to me. Looks beautiful there where you have it.

Aye, aero, sorry. ;)

The Aero would gain you something over an egret - lovely old-skool looks and a bit more cred. ;)

How easy is the rotate?

Justh searched google for Jaleco Pony and not a lot comes up.

Frameless monitor, no rotate mech. Unhook all cables, pull out (has big handles to grab), pop back in. The Mark II 28 has a rotate mech.

There's been one doing the loop on YAJ for a while. That might be your best bet - SuperPang has one of the others in the UK... Not sure how many there are over here altogether.

Shouldn't have sold mine....

They are the mutts-nuts for Shmups.

There's currently one on YAJ - I wonder if its worth shipping it back on its own?

Just one doing the round on YAJ?

So are these as rare as Rocking Horse Poo?

The only way I would get one is if a group order takes place again.
