Bezel Repaint Astro City

Post by CPS2 »

My bezel has a chunk missing (right down to the fibre glass. Anyone ever tried to fix something like this?? If so how??

Or is a full repray in order, again any suggestions??

Last question, do Naomi bezels fit an astro city??

:problem:

Nope, too small, the frame is not fat enough as I tried fitting a Naomi Sanwa/Tosh flat screen bezel in my Astro and its not gonna happen as there is a 10 mm gap all around.

You can fix it no problem with some filler and some sanding down. Only problem then is, It will need a re-spray. Not too hard for the bezel on a Astro though as there painted anyway as std. just try and get a decent match, something like a met. graphite grey etc :)

For filling small gouges, I recommend superfine-white milliput epoxy putty (art shops).

Kernow used some and he did a great repair on his AWSD which had a chunk missing. It sets hard as steel, can be sanded, polished to a shine (if required) and holds paint well.

See here:

I can get the putty if you have difficulty finding it locally.

Nay bother, I'm pretty evangelical about the stuff, it's one of the world's great inventions. Let us know how it turns out. :)
