JPAC + Soft15khz Screen Split in Quads?

Post by Jahya »

Ahoy,

Odd issue here. I have a JPAC, and soft15khz installed on a mame box in a New Astro City cab. I've used avres from ultimarc to set mame.xml to use the roms native res. Windows and most games boot just fine. But about 25% of them split into an odd quad screen. I know the JPAC splits 31khz signals into two screens, but this is 4 small screens, with some distortion.

ddraw mode, no hwstretch, switchres is on.

Shinobi, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat 3 are all split into quads when displayed. They are all 15khz games, with common resolutions. Any ideas?

Edit: I just went through all the quick res settings, and it looks like all resolutions below 384x288 on the quick res menu display this quad split oddity. Perhaps the video card i'm using is just incapable of displaying that low of a rez?

No problems with those games here, running soft15khz thru an onboard graphics adapter (no dedicated card) - must be your card reckon...
