picture stuttering again (AWSD / Egret II)

Post by Oliversum »

Yeah, so after last time when I found a solution in my "picture-stuttering" problem, being caused by a unplugged composite sync (Atomiswave SD Cab converted to Egret II)
I've got another slightly similar problem.

Got a MV-1FZ board some days ago and tested some games (Puzzle Bobble, Metal Slug, Garou etc.) and I discovered, that the picture stutters sometimes again.
This time it's like only a single time in between 10 seconds, but this already gets on my nerves.
The picture shifts a bit up or down (some millimeters) and then back to the original position. It happens fast, so it seems like it hiccups/stutters a bit.

V-sync is set, composite sync is plugged in, and also happens on my 2-Slot MVS board.

Any solutions? Could it be the Jamma Loom?

it corrects itself

just now it started to stutter several times again, like with the disconnected composite sync (D1, D2)

Don't have a camera now (it's used by each family member), but pics would be impossible, because it's only some milliseconds from
shifting (up or down some millimeters) until correcting back.

Do you have a picture that shows where these pots are?

I just don't have "good" access to the chassis, because it's a bit too high when I access it from the back of the cab.
Or is it one of these black pots (not green plastic pots)? They're good to reach for me. :)

Can I remove two of the ground wires (they're under screws), because they wouldn't let me move the chassis.
And where do I have to be cautious not to touch the chassis?

And I thought I wouldn't have to bother with the chassis when I got my cab, but now there is now other way, am I right? ****

The b+ should be no problem for me to change, only have to get croc-clips for my multimeter.

If it's a dry solder joint, how the **** are you going to discover which it is? :awe:

Just changed the pots a bit on the front near the degauss-button and it disappeared. :awe:
I think it depends on the configuration of them.
But I will also get a look on my chassis in the future, adjusting my picture a bit (its rotation is a bit to the left)
and also the b+ pots if I'm man enough.

Also, thanks for your great help, giving me a little overview over the chassis. :D

I double checked the v.hold pot before.

It disappeared after I changed the vertical size or position of the picture.

I had the problem before and I fixed it by making sure the cable from the chassis to the geometry knobs is not moving in the cab. I put on some tape on the wires next to the PCB compartment and the problem was solved.
