Mounting Sticks - Amateur Alert!

Post by slapaham »

Ok, so I now have my Astro CPOs - however, I've never mounted a Japanese-style stick and cannot for the life of me figure out how to install my Seimitsu stick

On the CPOs themselves I have one with mounting number 5 and one with mounting number 6 (or at least I'm pretty sure I have) -

However, it doesn't look like my stick fits either - could someone either give me a pointer as to why I can't figure it out and if it is possible and if it isn't - what are the best sticks to buy...

Ta! :)

Sure it's just me being thick...

The panels - I bought them from Penrhos, so may as well use his pics - they came unpopulated...

This will fit the Sanwa JLF (without mounting plate) and Seimitsu LS-33, 55 and 56 sticks (with VF mounting plate). Not the LS-32 however, which is the stick you have.
This should fit Seimitsu LS-32 sticks, but only with a Sega proprietary mounting plate. If you didn't get the plates with the panel then you'll have to try and buy a pair separately here on the forum (pretty sure you can no longer get them from Sega and Seimitsu never had them AFAIK). Possibly Sanwa JLF with JLF-1-S mounting plates will work as well (S-shaped).

The mounting plates you have shown in the first post are actually the ones on the sticks! The joystick you have has the mounting plate no.4 on it. The CP that this would be used with is a flat type of CP with just welded bolts on it like in the pic below - see the left hand side.

The plate will fit as for where to get some I am sure someone here will have some as that is the standard Sanwa plate. I did have a few but I am unsure where they are now.

Another daft mounting question. I can't mount my JLF-P1 Mounting Plates & screws because the nut seems to be missing on the inside of the plastic. Are these intentionally missing on the JLF-TP-8Ys?

I believe so yes. They're just standard M3 nuts so you should have no trouble replacing them yourself.

You're a star. M3 nuts are perfect. Just need one more plate now :)
