Found - Guwange Blue Label EEPROM(s?)
As title.
I’m a cretin, so don’t know how many are required (I could obviously google, but if you’re responding to this you already know!), and I’d also be double grateful if they were idiot proof labelled too.
I am just barely competent enough to swap them over myself though. I can tell you’re impressed!
Been messing about with it in MiSTer and I prefer it over the OG version. Can’t quite put my finger on why, but I definitely do.
Let me know if you can help!

Re: WTB - Guwange Blue Label EEPROM(s?)
It’s simple to swap, I used to have the blue version option.
I thought it was one chip but could be two.

I've always just lifted them with a screwdriver but now that PCBs are stupid money I think I'll invest in one of those.

Butter knife FTW... right?!SuperPang wrote: June 9th, 2025, 5:38 pm I've always just lifted them with a screwdriver but now that PCBs are stupid money I think I'll invest in one of those.
Leftover butter helps slide the pins back in afterwards.

Hate them chip removers I've done more damage to chips using those chip removers than with anything else, always use this nylon toggle pick https://amzn.eu/d/fwcI570 like those

Re: Found - Guwange Blue Label EEPROM(s?)
I've damaged a rusty chip or two with those dual prong pullers too, nowadays I tend to just use a flat head.geotrig wrote: June 9th, 2025, 6:49 pm Hate them chip removers I've done more damage to chips using those chip removers than with anything else, always use this nylon toggle pick https://amzn.eu/d/fwcI570 like those
Gotta choose between risking damage to the chip, or damage to the socket.

Re: Found - Guwange Blue Label EEPROM(s?)
Can someone pick a definitive please?
Otherwise I really am going with a used butter knife!
(Full disclosure, I’ve always used a flathead from a precision screwdriver set. Seemed fine??)

It's perfect for the job. I've rom swapped dozens of System 1 and System 2 boards using that tool and never damaged anything (they have a lot of chips to swap!).
@SquidDude is right about that dual prong. It's too fiddly and never worked right for me.
