I am considering getting a NEO SC-19 reproduction fitted with an LCD screen. Since LCD's are a no go, the screen will have to be swapped for a tube of some sort. Ideally the tube replacement would be what the cab was designed for, but in the less than ideal world we live in, my options are quite limited, especially here in Denmark.
I do happen to have SONY PVM 1910 sitting around that is just collecting dust, so if I could somehow retrofit it into the cab it would be ideal. I have no experience with any of this, so I might have a naive outlook but from what I can gather there are the following obstacles.
1. Whether the tube and accompanying electronics even fits inside the cab, the SONY PVM sets are quite dense with various parts, as compared to a arcade chassis which is just one smallish board.
2. Whether the curvature and dimensions of the front of the tube is a right fit for the repro arcade bezel. If it is made to house an LCD I fear it might not be right for a tube.
3. How to actually mount the tube in place, I imagine some sort of custom bracket would be needed to be made, if it even is possible with 1910 tube.
Anyone has experience with doing anything remotely similar? Any veteran advice or gotchas I missed would be appreciated.

I've been through a similar thought experiment and abandoned it.
Sonys in general are a bad fit for arcade, most of all PVMs. There are a few reasons but basically you want something like this:
and not this:
That's what convinced me anyway.

Re: NEO SC19 fitted with a PVM 1910?
I dug back through my photos to find the first picture. For the record that's a 25" Sanyo TV, and I passed on it with dreams of a Sony Pony, which was definitely a mistake at the time. I bought a Sony TV and after looking inside I quickly changed my mind and kept it as a TV instead. I'd have to be a wizard to have got it to fit.
The second picture is a PVM 20L5, taken from a video titled "Servicing Sony's impossible hardware".
Do to the size difference I've possibly exaggerated the comparison for effect.
Sony made unique CRTs. They're lovely but nothing like what arcade cabinets or games were designed for. A more standard old TV is a much better match imo.

It's not even the same monitor size. The PVM is a 20" (52cm) with a 19" (49cm) viewable screen. The Neo has a 19" (49cm) tube with a 18" (46cm) screen.

There is slim pickings for CRTs here in my part of the world. There are plenty of Bang & Olufsen TVs with Phillips tubes. The later era B&Os are pretty slim on the back side, but they are even more full of parts than a SONY. Finding a TV that looks like the top example on the inside is not going to be easy...

Any pics of this repro? Why would they make a curved bezel like the original which is surely very expensive to produce if they're going to fit a flat panel?

No pictures I am afraid. Not until I have one on hand, and that won't be for months. But that is my thoughts exactly, the cab will be tailor made for a flat panel, so it likely won't be trivial to jerry rig a CRT in there. Let alone find a CRT to fit inside. I guess I'll find out next year.

Is this something you're making or a commercial repro?

I wish I had the skills and tools to do something like that, alas no. It is made in China.
