2 Players via JAMMA via MiSTeR
Hopefully I'm just overlooking something simple.- I can't figure out how to get the buttons for a second player to work for MiSTeR hooked up to my cab via JAMMA. Even when initially mapping the buttons in a core, the second joystick/buttons won't register (When using other PCBs, all my controls work fine). Are 2 players not an option because MiSTeR is searching for an additional input device, rather than the single JAMMA connection? Thanks for any help!

2P should work fine Which JAMMA adapter are you using? I have an @invzim one and iirc it worked out of the box with no config needed. (Keyboard mode, Arcade cores only)
If you have the same unit there is an issue with configuring joysick buttons when the unit is in keyboard mode.

2P MiSTeR for arcade cores is a pain to work with, very hit and miss. Some cores are fine, others simply do not work properly. Even in gamepad mode you'll struggle.
If you're sticking to one game for a while it can work well as a PCB replacement, but if you want a multigame setup it's much easier to go with GroovyMAME.

What jamma interface are you guys using with your MiSTers?
I've a MiSTercade setup in one of my cabinets and haven't had any issues with player 2 at all, the thing has worked absolutely flawlessly for any two player gaming I've done on it.

I use the Irkenlabs JAMMA Expander and it works like a charm.
As mentioned above though, cores/games on MiSTer are very hit and miss with regards to 2p controls. Some games like TNZS work like a charm, others like R-Type haven't bothered mapping the 2p controls so they have to be manually configured every time the game is loaded!

Figured it out - Was just having some missteps with initial button commands, but it seems that whatever you button map with joystick 1, it will automatically mirror it with joystick 2. Thanks everyone
