As some of you arcade enthusiasts might know or not, California Extreme (CAX) has been running its convention since 1996, and it is a popular event located in the Santa Clara Convention Center. What is special about it is that there are panels featuring various people in the arcade industry along with possibility of playable prototypes unavailable to the public.

What are your experiences at CAX and/or if you plan to attend them?
Anyways, I was at CAX 2018 due to the appearance of Exa Arcadia booth and there are speakers representing the company plus others from Tanoshimasu and Mikado across various topics like Japanese Arcades + Exa Arcadia, Mikado becoming #1 arcade in Japan, and development fo Aka & Blue. I was very impressed with the small lineup so far and wished that Exa Arcadia would be part of CAX every year. There was also the Sega Sonic Bros prototype, which is a color match game by enclosing field with same color (a complete line or covering whole area with board edges being help.

[Edit]
The livestream event was on August 1st for only one day. At least the content was quite decent. Not really anything candy cab this year.
Hopefully the next year would be back to normal, as soon as a good quality vaccine to COVID-19 is available....
------
Found out over a week ago that CAX will not host a physical event, but will do a digital remote event instead on July 25th.
At least this pandemic forced planners to be creative with remote hosted events.

California Extreme is happening this year from October 16-17. This year will have COVID 19 restrictions such as vaccine requirements and face covers.

I will still plan to go there anyways in hopes of seeing some games.

2022 CAX is happening on July 30-31
COVID policies are indeterminate, could be like last year, or could be back to normal.
