You will be better off with the Capcom IO (£80 approx) There is no need for additional PSUs or sound amps if you go down that route & It looks a lot neater.
Naomi mobo + capcom io is all you need to play Naomi Cart Based games on any supergun / jamma cab
Why are you trying to talk him into buying an amplifier for a supergun? Just route the audio directly into the TV, computer speaker setup, home theater receiver or whatever you'd normally use to produce sound!
Capcom or Sega V2 io will work fine as both will convert JAMMA to JVS & amplify phono level from the Naomi to JAMMA levels for the SG.
Infact I was playing DOA2 on My Pana the other day with a Sega V2 & Naomi-1 mb set to 15Khz.
The only problem you will have is you cannot run a GD-ROM through either the Capcom/Sega convertors as they dont produce enough power.
If you want one I can supply a Sega V2 io with all leads for £90 posted or with Naomi-1 m/b, Virtua tennis & Dead or alive millenium edition for £190 posted - if you live in the UK.

Thanks for the offer, before i go buying anymore gear i will wait until i have sorted the sg deal with markedkiller78 and then ill let you know!!
If i were to have the kit im not really bothered about DoA so would want to buy without it. But ill drop you a pm as soona s the boardmaster is mine
Thanks for all the advice guys, anything else I should know??
If your TV accepts VGA you could run the Naomi at 31Khz, connect directly to the VGA input on the TV and take the phono output to line in on the TV too.
You could use a Sega V1 io just for the JAMMA-JVS and a PC power supply fof the Naomi & GD-ROM. Its messy but would be an alternative way of doing it.
I'll take some pictures so you can see how it all bolts together tomorrow.

That would be great cheers. Im slowly starting to get an idea of whats involved.
Supergun using a Sega V2 io to power Naomi mb set to 15Khz so video can be fed to a monitor using s-video (the Dell monitor accepts S-video, VGA & composite video so makes a perfect testbed) but you could just as easily be feeding RGB video to your TV.
