My New Cab!

Post by j69 »

Picked this up on Saturday from Pen's. Think I got a bargain, £300 and he chopped it and included a practically new marquee holder and 2L12B panel.

edit - new pics

So I took my scratched screen and wrapped it up

Took a car buffer and polishing pad

Added some of this

And ended up with this

Put in some of these courtesy of JonnyG

And spent all night kicking **** online

You don't wanna get bummed, I gather it's altogether uncomfortable...

I thought the marquee was broken when I told him the price & the screen had loadsa scratches that got on my nerves - picture is pretty good though colour & geometry are fine,

It needs quite a few minor touches to get it minty althought the chop-down looks great, apart from a bodge on the inner left leg, no gaps and the shiney legs are 100% better then the UK ones.

The 2L12B CP was the one from my old Naomi as I couldn't be bothered to mod the NOS 2L6B one I have. Its got a bit of rust on the back and the sticks are OK but the buttons are rubbish and idealy want replacing with new ones - no kick loom either.

Plastics were pretty good - no burns, no coin mech and nowhere to fit one either so he's going to have to wire up a credit switch or freeplay everything.

No Naomi motherboard or games were included but I did the chop-down for free.

Yes it probably was a bargain, I probably could have sold it for £350-£400 but I dont have the space or time & I've got a knackered shoulder thats going to take 3 months of physio to sort out.

I hadn't noticed. I guess he's not very good at SFIV and doesn't want much competition.

When you sit down you cant see them cos of the angle of the screen. Either way im gona try and buff them out next week,

And as for the rust under the panel and hole under the leg, im a 'if you cant see it, it isnt there' kinda guy :awe:

I didn't loose any money on it and I'm sure J69 will be happy with his purchase - which in my books is the important thing.

I dont do this hobby to make money and I'd rather under-sell something than rip someone off - All my sales are full refund if not happy & I think everyone who has bought a cab from me on here and KC (right from my first candy an LS-Sound that I think has found its way back to Tone).

I'm looking forwards to seeing what someone with some time to spare can do to complete the transformation.
