My monitor jut died on me...

Post by chubsta »

decided to install a dc in my cab and rotate the monitor back to horizontal
everything went well, plugged the dc in and the picture was fine.

left it running for about 30 minutes and then noticed that the screen was black.

i have switched it on and off a few times, and have left it off for 10 mins but nothing is on the screen at all.

The monitor is a Sanwa 31e29s in a Naomi cab. i have tried another source (a pc) and there is still nothing on screen. the screen makes a slight 'boing' noise when i switch the mains on, and when i switch it off there is a slight crackle os static so something is going on, im just not sure what!

any advice appreceated (i have checked the wires to the adjustment board BTW and nothing happens if i plug or unplug it...)

checked the video connection at the monitor and lo an behold its working again - it wasnt loose at all and was screwed in sp god only knows what happened there.

one thing i did notice tho was that on the neck board there were quite a few adjutment pots - what do they do?

cheers for the sterling advice btw :D

i remember someone else on the forum getting this problem and i was concerned it may be something to do with the signal coming from the dc-what i would like to know is if this is a homemade cable and how the dc is producing the correct res
the pots on the neck card are red, green and blue background-red,blue gain and sub contrast

Im running a vga box from the dc and then just a normal vga cable to the monitor.

think ill leave those pots alone as everytime i touch something it goes wrong...

i wonder if that vga box is taking the signal slightly out of range for the monitor-if works though don't touch
