Screenburn - nooberia
Well, since I got myself a Nomi Uni, I have to deal with screenburn. I'd like to know - what causes the screenburn? Is it the tube or the chassis? In other words - if I just let the tube get replaced, would this get me rid of the screenburn or would I have to swap the chassis as well? Noobish question, sorry

Re: Screenburn - nooberia
there are two tube types used on naomi-Akuma wrote:Okay, another stupid question - anyone know any TV model that has a tube that would fit a neomi's monitor? : ))
curved 29" 0.195mh yoke for the nanao ms2932
semi flat 29" 0.300mh yoke for the sanwa 29es31s
if you put any tube in without matching the yoke inductance you will fry the deflection stage and possibly the yoke as well
a very difficult task to find any tube which will match to the yoke as well as the curvature of the original tube
you have only really a few options either buy the same monitor or buy a complete new monitor

Although provided any replacment tube has th correct matching yoke inductance, it will work, right (regardless of tube curve)?grantspain wrote:there are two tube types used on naomi-Akuma wrote:Okay, another stupid question - anyone know any TV model that has a tube that would fit a neomi's monitor? : ))

If you find the right tube you can always swap yokes. The problem is that it's a pain in the **** to realign the color guns since to get the yoke off you have to take the purity rings and adjustment magnets off the tube too...
I'm a cheap ****. I learned to repair things to save money... even surface mount soldering!
