yesterday, while trying to adjust settings on my truxton board, I found a wire on the back of it. First, I thought this was a repair, thou the direction of the wire was somewhat strange.

wierd. Checking the other side of the board, i found that this was labeled J8 or J7. Jumpers? Next to the dip-switches?
Looking at mame - which absolutely obfuscates these jumpers (combining them to a dip called "region") - and the build in dip-switch-display-mode , i found out, that these are used for region-settings. It makes absolutely sense to solder those switches, instead of using a dip switch.

There are three of them:

Actually, there is a fourth, but it was not prepared for soldering, and the description stated "not used", so I did not bother with it.
After some solder action, which was a pain in the ****, i changed company from "Taito Cooperation" and region "For Europe" to "Taito America" and "for U.S.A." ... Japan could not be that far away anymore.

After I finaly found out, - and it took me a really long time to grasp that concept - that "on" actually means "not bridged", I desoldered all of the wires and was greeted with this:

Welcome Tatsujin!
Now I can finally put in six initials instead of the just three before.
