Replace the Wii remotes with some arcade sticks and you have.... a Tri Force! The Wii = Gamecube in a white shiny box with a crap control system.

Not laughing, I'd prefer it to Wii remotes any day of the week.

So this is a commercial cab and no conversion? Actually it makes sense that the Hardware might be a Triforce with a new, Wii remonte compatible I/O... Only question is software feed since GD-Roms are dead - maybe there is a DVD drive for that : )

If it's not commercial, that is a pretty damned good mock-up or effort imho! Grantspain, where did you obtain the image exactly?

Supposedly Tatsunoko vs Capcom runs on hardware based on the Wii, that game had its data stored in flash memory directly on the board as I recall.

The only company I heard going to use the Wii was Namco and I've never seen anything announced.

Actually, the Wii is more like an overclocked GameCube with a new GPU. So saying a TriForce with Wiimote I/O would do the trick is being a little too optimistic.

Do we actually have specs on the hardware now, then?

The Wii would be great if not for those annoying Wii remotes. They eat batteries for a start. I bought the Wii for my wife last Christmas and I've never had so many hungry peripherals!

I love the PS3, but would prefer the 360 controller on it. The original PS3 controllers are cheap and too light, plus don't have the same feeling of response as the 360 controller.

GameCube:
485Mhz IBM 'Gekko' PowerPC CPU
162MHz ATI 'Flipper' GPU
43MB System/graphics RAM (partially shared)
3MB texture/framebuffer memory

The Triforce shares all of the above specifications with the only notable addition of JVS I/O, GD-Rom support and RGB output.

Wii:
729MHz IBM 'Broadway' PowerPC CPU (Backwards compatible with Gekko)
243MHz ATI 'Hollywood' GPU (Backwards compatible with Flipper)
88MB System/graphics RAM (partially shared)
3MB texture/framebuffer memory

Wii consoles such a lazy design, no HDMI on a next gen console, No dvd playback, Yeah righ.
It's basically an upgraded GameCube, It does however have some nice Wii specific games.
"Yeah lets all get ponys instead, wait no lol trendy cabs" Err I think you meant Ponies didn't you ?
