Namco System 357 help

Post by coolmod »

So I received a few hard disks and dongles for Extreme VS. Gundam, now the only problem is that the game needs to have an All.net connection to it on boot-up in order to boot up at all or you get an error. Has anyone found a work around to this?

Have you tried your self? I personally haven't since I don't have a working 357 yet and I hear it's not compatible with Tekken 6 PCBs.

I'm guessing you can maybe reroute your IP to appear as if in japan and try that route.

I wonder if Extreme Vs requires purchased operator credits like Tekken Tag 2. =/

There is currently no workaround known to the public.

You need an account and operator credits.

Possible someone will bypass it in the future, but for now, you have very expensive doorstops and paperweights. :(

I'm pretty curious about how you are supposed to login. Do you need some kind of specific networking equipment to activate the ALL.NET connection or is it possible to simply plug the 357 board to internet and register the board ?
Can VPN and a japanese contact to obtain operator credits do the trick ?

I know a special router (I assume it is a VPN router like what is used for the Tekken Live Monitors) is required. You will also need operator credits, which requires an operator account to be registered. You'll probably need to route all of this through another VPN in Japan, most likely, since the service may just refuse connections based on GeoIP info.

The short version is, it's likely possible if you have the hardware and an operator in Japan willing to help out. I suspect it is easier than trying to get NESICA working since you don't require a bunch of servers and other hardware, you only need the game board, the operator credits and the [VPN?] router.

I own a working Namco System 357 and Namco System 369 and i live in the U.S. I was able to get around the the All.Net thing by sending my system 357 and 369 back to Japan to get updated with the latest firmware when the newest update was available in Japan. I have Tekken 6 for my 357 and Tekken Tag 2 for my 369.

Now this is interesting !
Few questions then. ;)

How was upgraded the System359 by your contact ? Did he had to connect himself to ALL.NET ?

Is the board now running without connection at all (no RJ45 plugged) ?
Is there some kind of time limit or is the board "ALL.NET free" forever ?
How did you get around the "operator credits" issue ?

Thanks in advance !

Yep. My contact hooked up my board to the ALL.NET in Japan to upgrade. But... I have Tekken Tag 2 Unlimited Ver. H05. When Namco came out with "Unlimited" they also made it so the board does not require you to be connected to ALL.NET to play. I can play online just fine.
But..... I do know a Contact At Namco you can talk to so that you can have a Namco System 369 connected to the U.S. version of ALL.NET. But you have to pay a monthly fee plus buy credits in advanced.. Its kinda not worth it..

Nope. No Limit!

Explained that above!!

That's some very interesting info, thanks !

The game is now worth less than 600 euros in Japan. I will forward all this info to the owner of my local arcade. It's worth a shot. :awe:

The difference here is that, as iloveyourmom pointed out, that the ALL.NET requirement for Tag 2 Unlimited was removed.

EXVS still requires an operator account and credits.

It's worth a try, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Interesting info. Raises my chances of eventually getting a 369 now that TT2U is dropping to a more reasonable price.

Can you ask your contact if Gundam Ex Vs could work if on U.S. All.Net or is it only locked to JPN All.Net.

Any chance you know what the monthly fee is?

Namco's All.Net service is region specific. So if you buy any Japanese board that requires All.Net service and you live outside of Japan or S. Korea then All.Net service will not work. However, America just started using their own All.Net service. Maybe Europe rolled out the same All.Net service as America. I haven't heard anything about the Europe service but it might be worth looking into. You can call Namco directly to ask them for more details. I called Namco America asking about the TTT2u All.net stuff... That is how i found out..
