Tate Aero City monitor

Post by Pat70 »

I got me a lovely Aero City last weekend :) which was allready tated - pots on the right side- and I hooked up my Xbox to be able to play Shmups via FBAXXX Pro emulation, which has the option to play vertical games in Tate mode.
Problem is that they are the wrong side up....

Is it possible to Tate the monitor the other way around?

Not without taking the frame to pieces and reassembling it, and moving the remote board A REAL PITA.

On my MS8 all 4 pins from the yoke are on the same connector. To invert the screen its simply a case of unplugging the connector and plugging it back in to the header slightly offset, but right next to it.

The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.

Well technically speaking you asked if it was dangerous and they told you not to fear to do it, not it was safe. So you are still likely gonna get scoliosis, but you are going to get it in a brave way.

'' The brave man inattentive to his duty, is worth little more to his Aero than the coward who deserts in the hour of danger ''

I'll have to wait till I turn 39, which is in 3 months.

See that big fat wire on the top right? That's your HV going into the anode. The other end of it's the part that holds the charge :)

I do actually see the plug you need to offset if you compare it with the schematic above but i wouldn't stick my hand in there just like that man!! Dunno how big your hands are but i would take it apart first or let somebody do it who has knowledge about all this.

Looks pretty clean from the inside btw looking at the age of the cab.

It sure does look clean, but it's Mastercello's Aeros picture...

I think I know now what to do...Can't say I'm looking forward to it.

I'm probably exagerating but it's better to be safe then sully.

Oi..ElPancho wanna switch cabs?

That's the part you need. Just make sure your cab is unplugged.

You'll find the connection quite stiff, and I had to pull gently on the wires coming out of the plug the get it to release. You'll find it easier if you try one end then the other and so on back and forth until it releases.

Plugging it back in to the other pins is very simple.
