Mounting an LS-56 in EGRET II using 2 plates

Post by emphatic »

If you buy the LS-56-01 stock, you get a funky, square plate that only has two, useless holes. As I wanted to mount it straight away in my EGRET II, I figured I'd go the creative route until I feel like ordering a P-40 plate for it.

Enter the "SANWA" plate (holes fit a plate-less JLF) that's usually included with EGRET II's:

Typically, I didn't rotate the joystick so the two holes are the same direction as the plate in the picture, but you can see that the holes match. :problem:

The screws stick out of the plate, but they don't reach the panel as the panel's screws are attached to a raised plate already.

As you can see, the stick is sitting pretty low, but personally, I like that. I might try flipping the "SANWA" plate though to gain a couple of mm's in height. Sorry for the pictures, didn't have time to get the proper camera out.

...or just drill some holes in the sanwa plate, using the LS-56 plate as guide.

the P-40 is nice but as you said, puts the stick too high. :?

Just installed the LS-56 in my Egret II with 3 stacked P-40 plates, which is the limit it seems for stock screws/bolts. I bought four p-40 plates, but could only use 3... Haven't measured, but length of shaft looks close to the ls-32.

Very cool. I haven't experimented with stacking plates.

I just got these and I'm guessing the flat ones would also work!
