My Sega New Astro City - I think i'm in love!! :D

Post by tetsujin »

well, I wasnt goin to get one until the new year as I am still finishing of my Ridge Racer System 22 machince for the garage.

but this came up and of all the candy cabs out there this is the one I liked the most, so fearing I might not get another when I wanted one i bit the bullet and bought it...
from J69 and went on a 10hr (stuck on the a1 motorway for over 2hrs!) drive in a Astra Van to collect it. Well worth it though

BEHOLD....

Bit of Final Fight to make sure it worked! :)

plans:

1. Play on it, I am (shock horror!) not a massive Street Fighter fan but if a cheap SSF2x turns up I may purchase it! I am more or a Tekken player so have Tekken 2 and 3 coming soon. Also like Mr Driller which is heading my way and for the old timers a PCB of Kung Fu Master as I used to love it on my NES when I was young! :D Also have Final Fight for now so thats cool.

2. When it gets a bit warmer I plan to spend the weekend stripping it ll down and giving it a 'fresh up' as its looking sorry for itself at the moment! It defo need a good clean. :D

Anyway, I know alot of people have Astros on here compared to other rarer cabs but I am just so happy with it and let me know what you think :)

Lovely cab, i have an Astro myself and think that they are much better looking than Egrets etc.

Some 'skeleton' buttons will look lovely on there, and why not treat yourself to a new coinslot whilst your at it!

Very jealous of your new purchase BTW, it was just out of my price range when delivery was taken into account, but you definately have a lovely machine there!!

Will be hoping you can donate this baby to the insert-coin show and you can mod it up with spare parts from sellers at the show
