Before you start you need to remove the chassis from the tube & cab (so discharge tube, disconnect neckboard, Degauss, Yoke plug, earth lead, video lead)

Open CP
Remove glass & bezel
Undo bolts holding CP to base (remove CP)
Undo all bolts under CP (remove flat plate under CP & lock bar)
Undo bolts holding Speaker panel to base (remove speaker and other bolts)
Undo bolts holding monitor in place.
Remove monitor
Undo bolts holding monitor mounts to case & remove
Remove on/off switch & drop wires into base
There is a ring of nuts/bolts holding the top on (remove all of them & lift top off)
Undo bolts holding coin mech to side of base & remove
Undo screws holding cashbox to base & remove
There are nuts/bolts holding the sides together (remove all and extract the two metal filler plates)
Remove the bolts holding the back/front to the base and remove sides
Remove 4 bolts that hold PSU onto base & remove

Done!
WoW sounds easy :? I take it you took photo's to help you rebuild it or have you just got a photographic memory  Thanks for the headsup any wayz Pen :)

I can Remember how to strip/rebuild cabs. I remember how to strip down & rebuild :-

Egret-II/III/AWSD, Naomi, Windy-II, Blastcity, Aerotable, Aerocity, Neo-19, Minicute, Pony-III.

Usually if I strip a cab, provided I rebuild it within 4 weeks I can remember where all the bits go without any difficulty.

FYI : photo's are posted up on J+

I've got this weeks pics ready to upload with it actually working again...

Needs a cap kit and the degauss circuit fixing, rest works fine.

How to max out the dead space in a Pony.

Step 1: get a PCB holder, and mount it to some MDF board measuring 380x550x12mm. Get another board measuring 350x550x9mm (maybe 12mm, depending on your preference).
20100414_002.jpg
Step 2: remove the monitor, drill the hole for the wingnut in the PCB board, tip the cab on its back to mark up the four screw holes in the base and drill these out too. Fit the PCB board, followed by the base board.
20100414_003.jpg
Step 3: figure out a neat position for the (small 15A) PSU, and a compact 4 slot MVS board - making sure you can insert cartridges through the front door. Fit a quality double layer horizontal game into the PCB holder to demonstrate there still being plenty of room.
20100414_013.jpg
It is impossible to remove the PCB board without pulling the monitor - using a smaller one that just fits the PCB holder would make more sense but it'd still be very difficult to remove it without removing the 4 slot first.

This is the only way of fitting a 4 slot! You can't attach it to the PCB board as the carts foul on the monitor chassis. The PSU also has to be moved from the standard position out of the way.

I though you were going to strip your black cab and have it sand blasted and power coated ? seems a bit of a wasted effort going to the trouble of removing the top and doing all that work if your going to be completely stripping it down in a couple of weeks ?

The cabs looking lovely Matt. why on earth would you want it powder coated, back to the original colour?
