Shame the iMac isn't retina. Sure looks pretty but the 3ghz 27inch will probably cost more than a small space ship

Yeah. That one is a bit odd huh?
I'm still trying to justify a purchase though

I wasn't sure so I got an ultrabook "for" Lucy and a tablet + desktop for me.Pete wrote:I'm finding it really hard to chose between a Ultrabook or tablet now

I quite like a tablet for the sofa. They're perfect for web browsing. It rarely leaves home though.

Re: macdebate club.
For browsing/streaming/general bobbins I pick up my tablet. For actual work (music/research/code/admin) I settle down with my laptop.
I could potentially combine the two with a full Windows tablet, but it'd have to be a 13" minimum so too big and bulky as a tablet, and any smaller would make a physical keyboard impractical for my use.
In other news, I couldn't be bothered shutting down my laptop last night and left it backing up to Crashplan overnight on battery - with the screen off. Checked it this morning and it still had 9.5 hours of juice left

Re: macdebate club.
Base model 3rd gen iPads are still fetching £350 upwards on ebay today. 4th gen is 387 on the education site. Hmmm... Cheap upgrade. Somewhat pointless maybe, but still, hmmm.

Forum £295 £315
Apple Refurb £315 £369

I wanted a mini, but with that resolution I'll wait till spring with the "New" mini comes out
