i bought a piece of sheet metal from a guy on ebay. he cut it to the right size. the wood was part of the packaging, but it had the perfect thickness, so ... i mean ... it was free and ... i ...

well, at least the front looks good enough.

there are at least 2 of them in the uk.
to me, at least, they seem to be harder to find than capcom mini cutes. mini cutes seem to go for more, though.

my first time messing with a crt. almost shat my pants when i was about to discharge it. once it was done i almost **** my pants laughing. the loud "pop" that i expected was nothing more than a barely audible "zap". well, better save than sorry, i guess.

total cost: ~35€ inkl shipping and material
time wasted: ~5 hours
happy: not really. picture is too small and the 50hz refresh rate is a bit annoying. my 20" sony in the bedroom is better ... but also too big for the cab.

it used to be a 17" grundig tv. tube is a A41 and was made by lg/philips in the uk, apparently. forgot to take a picture before tearing it apart.







can't rotate, because the frame is too wide.
also had to bend the left side a bit to make it fit.



test with a home cart system.





i might try a 19" later.

i sort of gave up for now and put the lcd back in. i just don't have the time, atm. next update will be about the new cpo.

Would be nice if you could post a few pictures or provide some advice on how you made it fit.
When you try to tate the monitor, does the metal frame or the neckboard hit the back or does the tube not fit between the mounts?
Do you use a premade frame or did you build one yourself?

I'm still wondering if a custom/modified neckboard and or longer wires to the chassis would be a possible solution....

i didn't really have the time to mess with another monitor, lately. i'm not even sure what brand might have had a good 19" tube. did you use a real arcade moditor? maybe we should make a list of what we tried.

good plan. i will try to do the same, but there probably won't be too many more updates this year.

there's a lot left on my to do list:

- install marquee light
- install marquee
- make a new coin box door
- hook up the coin mech
- hook up the headphone connector
- re-do the power wiring
- install a hidden test switch
- install a hidden coin button for late night sessions
...
- try to make a 19" monitor fit
- new bezel
- try to find a marquee holder

i've had my cab for about a year, btw.
