OlDirty wrote:Finally it's DONE :-o . Still can't believe it :D . The whole sticker reconstruction may needed the same amount of time as the whole rest of the restoration will need :lolno: . But i hope some of you can also use those stickers. Do whatever you like with them (size color,etc.). The color will be very different on every printer i guess. I printed many sheets to tune the colors with the original stickers. But it's still far away from beeing perfect. Because i have no idea from color mixing the process is just too difficult for me  .

Here are a few pics of the stickers. If some one can give me an advice how or where i can upload the PDF file and Adode Illustrator file i'll upload them, so everybody can use those (just about 1MB).

PS: If you really upscale the graphics you can see the hundrets of dots i did for all the japanese letters. You're really getting crazy with the time  . But I didn't wanna use simple rectangles to reconstruct those, because it would just look too "clinical". I think many of those letters (f.e. the ones on the coindoor) are hand made, so i tried to reproduce that look also.
You know a lot of these stickers are still available right? Also, brand new marquee holders are also still available...

Just a tiny update polishing screws and all the little pieces.

screws before polishing
Image

throw everything in the tumbler . No the pinballs don't belong to the Egret ;)
Image

it's doing the work
Image

this big nuts i polished by hand. Right side before, left side polished.
Image

Screws after polishing. Because the small grain will stick in the screw heads you have to take care of EVERY screw by itself and remove sticky grain out of the screw heads.
Image

pinballs also shine
Image

Also polished the wheels, but not all of the dirt could be removed from the outside of the wheels.

before

after

Waiting for my housing which is by the painter and all bigger metall stuff which is nickel plated now (i hope 8-) ).

Just got a few parts back from powder coating. It's in RAL 9003 (silky gloss). Wanted to have also clear coat on it to give it a more glossy look, but the guy told me to better leave it without  . Problem is, that the surface of the big housing isn't perfect from factory. There are some really tiny "holes" which would pop out pretty much the glossier you paint it. So i have to be satisfied with this. Looks pretty good, but if you have a "paint fetish" it can't be glossy enough

So it looks like this now.. ohh no this was before
Image

maybe it looks more like this :D
Image

Image

also did a bit of wood sanding. 15mins job and what a difference 8-)

I want to know this. I just bought an E2 and need stickers and a marquee holder. Are you saying Taito? If so I'll have to call them.

Here we have the Egret 2 metal housing. Sandblasted and powder coated.

i also sandblasted and repainted the stands

corosion on the buttom of the panel

Image

Just wanted to remove the rust, but not more of the protective zinc plating. Would look nice if it's also nickel plated but unfortunately it's not possible with the print on the other side.
Image

doesn't look prefect, but the rust is gone
Image

Image

To get an illumination kind of HEY like i built a stand with LEDs (5m).

Image

looks like this. Of course the LED's on the top won't be visible at the end because the plastic housing is still missing.

Personally i wouldn't expect them to be close enough to the original.

But if i'm wrong i'd be happy for everyone needing a good replacement.
