Re: naomi wii
It's not capable of resolutions that would benefit from HDMI, and 99% of people have another DVD player. Both are not insignificant extra costs that would've shoved the price up.gargoyle67 wrote:Wii consoles such a lazy design, no HDMI on a next gen console, No dvd playback, Yeah righ.
It's basically an upgraded GameCube, It does however have some nice Wii specific games.
I'm not a fan of the Wii (loved my GC though) but it doesn't suffer from the lack of HDMI/DVD whatsoever.

Yes the rez is another big minus, But in this day and age ppl want multi purpose machines I.E media players as well in fact a lot of ppl just use there PS3 for bluray/avi/dvd playback.

I read somewhere in the xmas breaks that Ninty where making a channel with the software to made DVD's playable on the Wii, however you would need to pay a small fee to obtain the licence.gargoyle67 wrote:Wii consoles such a lazy design, no HDMI on a next gen console, No dvd playback, Yeah righ.

Re: naomi wii
Ninteno are supposed to be releasing a dvd wii soon, Wow the future is now
And thinking about it how much more would it really cost to make the wii play dvd's ? you could do it through software the dvd drives already there, Plus hard drives are dirt cheap, You don't even have to package the console with one, You could even charge over the top like MS do. I think in this day and age you should at the very least have a hard drive capable machine.

Re: naomi wii
Wow a lot of wii-hate.
I love the wii for the same reason I love arcade games: Simple, pick up and play quick bash games. I love the way it's a games console and not another stinking "multimedia" device that wants to take over my life. The graphics are fine and charming for the games that are designed for wii ...And this is coming from someone who paid over the odds to be an early "HD" adopter.
All my childhood, I always looked forward to a time when barriers would be taken down and more people would realise how fun games can be. ...Now the wii provides that accessibility, everyone complains!

Re: naomi wii
Wario Ware killed it for me. Multiplayer that has to be unlocked? No thanks Nintendo, please remove your head from your ****.
(That combined with my declining interest with modern games in general.)

I'm the same, but it's the movie-wannabe time-demanding games (that have the same gameplay, just different graphics) that bore me. The wii is an exception with many games.cools wrote:(That combined with my declining interest with modern games in general.)

Re: naomi wii
Multiplayer on Warioware is pretty much an afterthought anyway. You can play a handful of games in the manner of one person holds the nunchuk while the other holds the wiimote. They didn't even bother to add multiple wiimote support.cools wrote:Wario Ware killed it for me. Multiplayer that has to be unlocked? No thanks Nintendo, please remove your head from your ****.

Re: naomi wii
Well the Nintendo Wii is a curious ethological* case. Consider the dichotomy*, a lot of people seem to dislike it yet a lot of people have it. A bizarre case of modern manichaeism*. Does it build bridges or walls? Who are you Wii? If that's even your real name.
*I don't know what it means.

Re: naomi wii
Just removed the dust of my Wii, connected some Gamecube control adapters ( too lazy to hack ) compatible with my J-PAC, bought the Mayflash Wii/PS3 VGA cable ( works a treat ), connected to my tri sync Neo, shoved in Tatsunoko vs Capcom and I'm in love with my Wii. Some relations just don't start with love at first sight
Btw there are still a couple of more games that can be played with the GC controls and on a cab and the Wii also plays my import GC games like a charm on 480p, makes my GC obsolete now. Who knows what the future will bring, but honestly even if it stayed like this it would be worth my money for sure!!
