I don't believe in Darko shtick and what he says. He's just an influencer peddling what he was told to do. Those phones have probably all the same dac implemented anyway.
I don't know who you're on about, but the LG stuff is head and shoulders above the rest. It's a stonking feature.

Anecdote - my daughters volume limited headphones triggered the high impedance mode on my V20, allowing scary high volume.

For serious listening with headphones I use 600 Ohm Beyerdynamic DT-880s that need external amplification anyway, so for me the phone-dac is a rather pointless feature.

This is a damn fine bit of hardware. MIUI is a bit weird but not appallingly so, and practically every application can be removed and replaced with something less annoying - be nice once some AOSP stuff starts to hit and Google can be done away with too.

Very impressed.

I’ve pointed my lad to that Poco X3. He wants to leave Apple. Sounds great.

Only annoyance is having to wait 7 days for the bootloader unlock, but there are no AOSP builds yet anyway.

You know that whole rabbit hole of specification comparison and debate picking holes? If this was 400 I'd maybe be getting into that, but at 200 quid I not only think thats fruitless, I think it's great regardless of the price.

That's highly influenced by the fact I've been able to permanently remove and replace just about every visible application installed with a preferred alternative. Not that any of the stock applications are bad, I just like how you can remove the keyboard and launcher and properly replace them.

May be an Android 10 thing, dunno.

Good, Yeah I don’t think he’d be getting into heavy customisation. As long as it’s good out of the box.

I bought a set of AKG K275 recently.

They sound incredible.

They are a full metal build, have a honking great cable, no bluetooth, microphone or battery to wear out and cost a tenth of those Apple cans.

FFS. I was looking forward to a new 27” iMac this year but it’s entirely possible they’ve canned it all together in favour of this new Studio thing. If I’d known that I’d have upgraded to the latest one before they pulled it. The studio one I’d want is 5 **** grand.
