No. Don't see the benefit of a desktop Siri. Maybe next year after the first update.

I did, no reason not too.
Works as expected and I don't care about Siri, being the quiet kind.

Besides, I only use a mac at work.

I updated to Sierra on my MBP, it's nice but not making use of any of the new features really.

I can't work out how I can't use my iWatch to unlock my Mac.

I have two-factor authentication enabled to my mobile number, a pass code on my iWatch and the option in Security under System Preference is just not there

Edit: Just read up on it and Macs older than 2013 don't support it.

MBP Retina 2012 up for sale soon :awe: I need an upgrade anyways.

The guy in work who bought one was pronouncing it Combproof. This was corrected.

I made fun of Siri for not pronouncing my name right and it asked me how it should be pronounced then. That was rather impressive. But it still wouldn't learn the right pronouciation after three tries... From flabbergasmo to disappointo in ein minut.

Anyone ordered a new Macbook Pro?

I wanted to replace my 2012 Retina MBP 15" but £2700+ is a bit to much especially now the university discount backdoor doesn't seem to work

Apple prices are stupid now, few years back I could just about justify it, but now they've gone beyond the pale, especially when they get carried away removing features and ports etc.

Oh, with that said, I finally caved in today and picked up a new iPhone. :shifty:

I've been rocking a plain iPhone 5 for what, 4 and a half years or something? Going from someone who used to upgrade regularly, I just couldn't see the point of upgrading any more from then.

Although my iPhone 5 just really needed a new battery, I kept running out of space, plus my eyes are really bad these days so a slightly bigger screen helps.

Anyway, I do like it, but I just wish I could get excited about new phones.

Bizarrely the thing I actually like the most is the Apple leather case. The price is quite steep at £45, (does anyone remember when apple did a £100 case for an iPhone years back), anyway, thing is I bought a similar one for my 5 and that lasted 4 years without ever looking bad - you can't beat a leather case as they do look nice as they age. I would love to use one without a case of course but always think its going to slip out of my hand.

So was anyone Grail enough this morning?

Finally got my order in about 8:10 and got estimated delivery of 13th-20th. I read the Apple Store app with Apple pay was supposed to be the quickest method but not this time. Should've just refreshed the webpage like mad.

When I logged in it was 4-5 weeks. I'm going to wait and have a play in store.

Considering the issues with the pixel2 screen and the fact that Apple are already having problems with screen yields, I can see the X having a high return rate.

Lack of a finger print sensor is the biggest concern I have right now. It's going to take an age for 3rd parties to update their apps to incorporate face recognition (or lack of) if they even bother to. Who wants to go back to passwords and PIN numbers :problem:

I think I'd be happy with an updated iPhone SE. 256gb and an IP7 camera
