You're selling a Wii U to get Clash of Clans.

Not entirely. I've backed out of a new phone because I think the iPad will be a better buy for me. I came to that conclusion before I decided to sell the Wii U. No-one's on Wiiland when I play anyway, no point keeping something I don't use.

The iPad Air's ace and a garg's barg at that price. You should turtley buy one then download FTL and play that instead of that Clan thing

...And Draw Something. Which I've been attempting to play on a phone lately funnily enough.

Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
Android L OTA available for Nexus devices, including the Nexus 4 and 2012 Nexus 7.
Good things: multitasking, OS wide colourblindness correction, animations fast enough that I don't feel the need to disable them, the device itself faster than it's ever been. Google Calendar is all kinds of ace, and a bunch of bits and bobs from custom ROMs and 3rd party apps have made it into the core (LED torch, screen inversion).
Bad things: contrast has been lowered across the board, and everything's a bit white. And the colour correction totally destroys vsync in games

Didn't like the iPhone 6 so I took it back.
Now on the lookout for a 5s if anyone has one they want to sell.
Also have Cave PCBs I can trade too

I think the 5s is a lovely phone, but I'm used to the 6 now. Cracking (I hope not......) screen and I love the rounded edges. They are keeping the 5s though?cRacKh0rN wrote:Didn't like the iPhone 6 so I took it back.

Battery life a great improvement. Other than Exchange services being broken for me Lollipop is a big step up. It kinda feels like its inherited a lot of the good UI from WebOS which I loved.

Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
Hello macdebaters. I need to buy an ipad for a family member. It's got to be brand new. It's got to be full size so 9.7" or whatever, none of this mini ****.
What shall I buy and from where? Performance isn't really a factor, but obviously I want good value. I'm seeing the ipad 4 still in stock some places for around £270, but the air seems a better buy for the shake of just £20 more. PC World *spits* did have the 4 for £240, but they're now out of stock. Am I missing anything? I want to get one as cheap as possible tbh, if I could buy a brand new ipad 3 for £200 for example I would go with that. As I say it must be brand new though, so no refurbs or whatever.
Wondering if any Black Friday deals might surface.

Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
I dunno about the older ones but the Air 1 is available around £280 and the Air 2 around £350 from Amazon sellers. They're imports but they can apparently be registered with Apple UK and as long as your order's "fulfilled by Amazon" you should be ok.
I'm getting either of the above as a Christmas pressie. Haven't decided which though. I wouldn't rule out an older gen but the price difference isn't enough. Let me know if you do find a really cheap one.
Oh, and from what I've heard, Apple's own refurb's are recased and reboxed so for all intents and purposes they're 'christmas present new'.

Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
On the whole I liked the 6 and used it happily for nearly a week.markedkiller78 wrote: I think the 5s is a lovely phone, but I'm used to the 6 now. Cracking (I hope not......) screen and I love the rounded edges. They are keeping the 5s though?
Then I put some tunes on it and went out with headphones on and it sounded terrible to my ears.
There is a distinct lack of punch in the 100hz range and the treble was really over pronounced...Harsh in fact.
I went back to the store and listened to the Plus and few other 6's with the same music sources and the treble was less harsh than mine but it sounds like the power of the headphone amp has been lowered and given my electronic music tastes, it doesn't cut it at £619.
The 5 my misses has sounds better but ironically, my old 4s kicks both their arses with a really bold and punchy sound that doesn't sound piercing at high volumes.
I also have an old Nokia Lumia for app tests and that sounds fantastic (just a shame about the phone

Oh, and I struggled to stretch my finger to the top left to go back on apps. Smaller screen ftw

Black Friday tomorrow and Apple normally do have some deals. There's bound to be something on Amazon as well and maybe John Lewis.Spectre wrote:Hello macdebaters. Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
Had a quick play on a Nexus 9 the other day. Not all that impressive for the price, but then based on the £120 G Pad I'm using nothing is. I need to find a decent 4:3 10" android tablet for this iCade though. It works well with the LG but that looks stupid in it.

I've got one of those. It wouldn't fit without altering the entire "cabinet", so that's not happening.

Re: The great macdebate (now with roids)
No really attractive deals around it seems, but just picked up a sealed ipad 4 from an average joe seller on eBay (pictures of the actual item etc) for £220 so happy enough with that. Paid with a credit card via paypal, so my **** is covered if he turns out to be a wannabe scammer.Rossyra wrote:Black Friday tomorrow and Apple normally do have some deals.
