I could only ever find Wonderboy in bars in Corfu. Spent hours on that game
Snakes: They're like bits of rope, only angrier.

Re: Your first arcade game played/or the one that got you hooked
first cab i remember is a simpsons 4 player the large one, the image is still burned in my mind from a 4 year old's perspective like when you couldn't see over the chip shop counter when you were little. when i seen it i couldn't believe a machine like that existed having only played atari 2600 and nes, never got to play that one until a couple of years back only a 2 player cab though but 3 credits for 50p.
first cab i remember definitely playing was a playchoice 10 in a burger king. only got one go then these guys hogged it playing tennis.
and the first arcade game i got was magical drop 2
metal slug got me into the neo then arcades been rinsing slug 2 for the past week. good stuff.

Another oldie here - first was the one and only Space Invaders, local cinema circa '79. First love though was Asteroids, then Moon Cresta and Scramble. Until Defender came along of course and changed everything. We had a local toyshop 'Tots 'n' Toys' (in Buckhurst Hill, Essex if by chance anyone else was from round there?!) that always had a great selections of cabs. Arcades and machines were absolutely everywhere in those days of course and Saturdays were often spent in Walthamstow market in very typical dark, seedy "lend 'us 10 pence kid" type places...happy days!

Max. Looking for Neo Geo MVS: ****Pulstar****, Money Puzzle Exchanger, Twinkle Star Sprites

I always loved arcades when I was a kid but MVC2 is the game that finally got me back into the arcades in high school.

Re: Your first arcade game played/or the one that got you hooked
The first arcade game I ever played was either Centipede or Millipede. I was maybe 3 or 4 at the time and the two games look so similar I don't know which one it was.
I remember the cab looked so tall, like a giant monolith. It had a weird monitor that was tall even for adults, but to me was a mile away
My dad set me on a stool and let me play but I had no clue what I was doing and probably died in seconds.
First games that really got me into arcade gaming were the games at the local country store/pool hall near where I lived in the country. They had one cab and one pin that rotated ever year or so. Those games were
Superman
Pole Position II
Goldenaxe
Of course I played dozens of other arcade games in other places like Wal-mart storefronts, bowling alleys, laundry mats, and Pizza Hut. Later on Taco Tico was also a hot spot. Of all of those games SFII had the biggest impact on me and usually took all my quarters if it was available.

Re: Your first arcade game played/or the one that got you hooked
I played many arcade games before Street Fighter 2, but that is what got me hooked. All of my money would be spent playing that game with my friends. After that it was MKII and MK3.
The first game I bought was a Pac-Man 25th Anniversary, before I knew any better and that these things could be had for cheap, well cheaper then retail.

Re: Your first arcade game played/or the one that got you hooked
I know I used to play the occasional game of Ms. Pac-Man when I went out with my family for pizza as a young child, and I seem to recall going to a small arcade at a shopping mall when I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, but the first time I remember being totally taken back by arcades would have been in the summer of 91 or 92 when I went this place called "gopher fun park" with some friends for my birthday. They had Street Fighter II, T2: Judgement Day and a 4-player Simpsons cab and those games blew my mind. After that I was going to the arcades whenever I got the chance.

First game Space Invaders ca 1979 on a camping in Göteborg, Sweden.
First hooked game was Green Beret but I want to honor Black Tiger a little more.

Re: Your first arcade game played/or the one that got you hooked
I can't really remember what the first arcade game was that I played, but it was probably something released in the later half of the 80's...However I clearly remember already at an early age like 6 or something, having an urge to test almost every game i could find. I remember often being denied access to gamed, both from my parents, because they thought it was unnecessary thing to pay money for, and also by managers, because of the 15+ age limit laws in Sweden. So when i turned 15 I was glad.. but at that time, Arcade gaming was almost dead here anyway. One of the first games that I remember always looking for in arcades was Daytona USA, loved it, and that was followed by Sega Rally and Manx TT Superbike. In other genres like Lightgun games, Virtua Cop Jurassic Park Arcade, House of the dead was real favorites!, Star wars Trilogy Arcade was really awesome to!. I would say that without those games, my interest for arcade games would not be as big as it is today!

Galaga.
I also spent so many quarters on Pit Fighter [WTF?!] it's ridiculous. I think it was because the SF2 cabs always had a line but [gasp!] Pit Fighter was always available.
Fatal Fury 2 made me a fiend though. Splatterhouse got a ton of love from me as well.
