BTW, what is the complete reference of the tri-sync Toshiba ?

Info or intox, i dunno remember who told me this, but apparently you cannot change the RGB in the tri-Toshs, as the setup is factory-made, and you must possess a special technician-pots-connector to put on the amp of the chassis, and do your setup.

Someone can confirm or infirm ?

you can change rgb in the service menue from the toshiba chassis!
btw, the chassis make the best picture i have ever seen in 15k and 31k. even better than a pfx!
sadly they was only in the first gen. of e3s and a short time in japanese net citys, so its nearly impossible to get one of this babys new or used.
someone here told me(andygeezer?), that the monitor/chassis combi from toshiba was too expensive for taito/sega, so they took other cheaper monitors for their cabs.

to enter the service menu i found only 1 way, but i´m sure there must be a button combi....

i have plugged a 10k poti between menu (function) and ground....
when I adjust 5k on the poti and press the button, I get the geometry setup onscreen, 0 ohm I get the menu where I can change the colors and when I adjust the poti to 3 k I can change the hsync....

the test grip looks great now.
i think you wont get the pic better, cause you never got such a perfect geometry on a crt as it is on a lcd screen.

Mine is pretty much spot on
till you put it into an AW/E3

the frame seem to be very magnetic, if i take the screen out of the cab the geometry is perfect.

Mine is mounted in a Naomi on a sega frame. There is a bit of compression on the left & it's not 100% straight, but it's still very good for an FST

is that due to the speakers at the top of the cab? have you tried it with the speakers removed??

Can you think of a fix for this? Would a degauss wand work, and if so, do you have to strip the cab so the frame is bare?

Come to think of it, I did have to buy a degauss wand for this monitor. Mine had a trerrible blue patch on the left side. I put it down to madnatisation when I moved it, but they could just be very prone to it?

the wand fixed the color problem ( mine were on the right side btw ^^) but not the geometry, i had to adjust the Hsync.

i have no idea whats up with these cabs , kinda odd. the PFX seems to have problems with the frames as well.

Putting a monitor like that in one of those cabs, would be like putting a ferrari engine in a ford..

2930 is analogue with manual res switching
2931 is digital with auto res switching

Thanks Grant,

Any major difference on picture quality? Or are they pretty equal in that regards?
