DC Pad Hacks in JVS Naomi

Ok guy bit confused here.

Got some DC pad hacks. But the buttons dont always work, or some games start button is only button to work.

The joysticks movement works everytime, and also SF Alpha 3 works great also.

But thats about it.

Any help appreciated

Sounds like they're not grounded properly for the buttons signals.

Hmmm, it does seem a bit strange.

Did you do the hacks yourself? How is the other end teminated, AMP connectors?

When I wired the AMP conectors onto mine I didnt mirror the wires and so only about two buttons would work correctly. Took me ages to figure out what I had done wrong

The best thing I can suggest is to double and triple check your wiring (I had to do it about ten times! ) and a multimeter will help too if you have one.

It does seem strange that SFA3 works fine though. You would expect every game to work if one of them did.

i got them off pilgrim , SF Alpha 3 works fine everytime , Under defeat has issue after pressing start same on Trigger Heart Excelsia

tony can you post pic of the solder sides on the PCB?

Solder Side up.

Also on SFA3 its the top 3 buttons and start that work + Movement

tony i cant see in the picture but are any of the blobs of solder touching from each signal ??im shaw you have looked at this first but just making shaw?

also are the pins on the connecters in the molexes touching propley in the cabinets moxles when pushed together?as i have seen this with cps1 kick harness?

as for connection in the molex, i still dont see why SFA 3 would work top 3 buttons and start, and why Under Defeat would just work on start, with out be touching the hacks?

yeah tony its a new one on me!?are all 6 buttons working 1p2p in alpha3?

either somthing is a miss or they just ****.

I will ask pilgrim if he ever even checked them , or if somthing is missing

ok are all games set to default on the controller?via the in game menu?dont think the PAL/NTSC/U would matter.

also may be a good idea to check the correct pin-out to see if they all match the molexs/sega pin-out.from DC to the molexs to the cabinet ones?

tbh i bought these expecting them to work, it didnt say anywhere in the sales thread, unfinished to faulty Pad hacks .

Also noticed after taking apart my DC, that the pcbs are cutom built as my DC pad pcb looks nothing like them.

there not custom DC pcbs there from the origianl arcade sticks.i dont have the pin outs myself been a long time sence i made stuff for DC to arcade stuff

they used the arcade sticks pcbs as the dc pads have progressive buttons for the shoulder buttons for drivers ie sega rally etc where the arcade stick as 6 x on/off type signals for the buttons like a arcade type panal.

They look far too well built to be fails. What does the wiring look like in the cab? Tried them in one of your other Naomi cabs?

yep they are a fail in all 3 of my Naomis

Its frustrating as hell coz i really want them to work
