easiest way to tell your non running FF is a boot is because the rom chips aren't socketed. I've never seen a legit cps1 b board that doesn't use sockets for the rom chips

The ROMS are socketed, it's just not that obvious from the pic I've taken, i'd say the easiest way to tell was the crap soldering of pretty much everything on there

eBay, from the US.

It was $159 before shipping, but I ended up getting repro Marquees and a repro instruction manual from the same seller too.
I think it came to around £150 including postage overall.

Was that a good price?

That looks like more of a conversion than a bootleg. I'm not very familiar with that hardware, but they look identical aside from the roms and processor.

Edit- confirmed:

For Ninja Kid II: On Nov 15, 2008 a fully decrypted sound rom was created by www.segaresurrection.com It allows you to replace the NEC MC8123 and encrypted sound rom with a standard Z80B and the newly decrypted sound without any other mods to the Z80 & sound rom as required by the other "double-sized" version. The CRCs are listed here so it doesn't show up as a newly "found" bootleg version: nk2_06.rom.

Ninja Kid 2 uses "NEC MC8123" not Atomic Robo-Kid.

Any JAMMA board that lacks a keyed connector should raise a red flag.

You can't use that as anything other than a "taken alongside 10 or so other factors" indicator. If you do, feel free to sell me *all* your bootlegs for cheapo prices. I'll keep the originals which will be in there.
