ST-V multi-cartridge and 'strange' pcb?

Post by wombat »

Lately I'm pretty hooked on playing ST-V games. While exploring all the functionalities in the bios, I came across this option: "ST-V multi-cartridge". After checking system16 I found out that the ST-V manual also mentions this functionality. Unfortuatly I can't find anything about how to connect multiple carts to one MB. Did it ever get supported by SEGA? Or did anyone attempt to make it work?

Also I was wondering if anyone knows the purpose of the little extra PCB bottom-right on the picture:

[ I'm asking this becouse I also have a ST-V board without this PCB, and it works 100% the same ]

Thanks in advance for helping :)

The STV multicart system is a different pcb - supports 4 carts I believe. I've never seen one.

The pcb in the bottom right does some IO stuff I believe - I've had STV mobos with and without them and all games have worked fine.

The multi cart motherboard proberly never made it into production and so doesnt exist as no one as ever seen one save the drawing in the manual.

The small add on pcb is for additional sound output.
