Years ago I had a near-NOS original one on order for 900eur which i cancelled because after some consideration i thought it was too much money
i still do, its just that now the rest of the world seems to think spending 4k or more on it is perfectly reasonable

You have to contact them and ask to buy one, they don't advertise it on their sales page for some reason. There are other sellers on Ali that do though. I am not sure if they all get the cabs from the same supplier, make it themselves, or get the outside from a supplier and provide their own internals.
aerobert wrote: March 6th, 2025, 9:05 am To be honest, the cute has horrible ergonomics compared to what's offered out there. It is (was) targeted to children after all. But I agree on the foot print thing. It's absolutely targeted at small far east asian living spaces. That's why superguns were a big thing in Japan.

I would rather look at a repro of a Pony 3 or perhaps the SNK sc variants.
The ergonomics work out fine for me, I've even comfortably played two player on it with some one else.

There is a guy living a few towns over who apparently has a lot of cab stuff for sale, I think I might be able to source a vintage 19" Japanese arcade monitor from him. I am tempted to give it a try, though I am sure making it fit will not be trivial.

I definitely reckon if I had one it'd be a 'cute little thing in the corner of my gamesroom running an attract screen while I actually played on my bigger cabinets' type of thing.

Which is absolutely fine too :D

Absolutely, but a couple of CRT's, a raspberry 3b and a scart cable will do the same thing. :) In fact, I think I'll set something like that up.

Bit of wood and you can do a 'mini cute at home' job on it :D

A modern cab such as Lindy is basically a tv stand just makes it easier having it all in one.

Check out Vortex Arcade on facebook. They’re in Europe and were producing their own repros.

Excellent attention to detail from those AE repro sellers, especially in terms of side sticker placement ( Astro City)....

Hehe, would not have noticed if not pointed out. The sticker on my Mini cute could have been placed with better care as well, it has a couple of bubbles here and there. Also the control panel buttons are not technically the right colours, but it seems there is lots of custom variety in that department.

I spoke to a guy a few towns over who is in the process of selling a lot of arcade hardware. Seems he has a NOS Intervideo monitor and chassis he is willing to sell. As soon as I secure some transportation I'll drive over and pick it up. He also has some Japanese monitors in the same size, but apparently not in the greatest shape. Perhaps this will bring my Cute up to snuff.

Nice, interesting. I don't have any details from the seller about the exact size and model unfortunately. Also I do not find much information online. I guess I will know when I inspect it myself. Good to know that they fit right inside a cute. I imagine I will need to do some drilling at the very least, but should be worth the effort to get an actual high quality monitor in there.

There is chance I will move into a place with no room for the comparatively giant Blast City, in which case my Cute would be destined to become my main and perhaps only cab.

Turned out it was actually a 20” monitor, which unfortunately is way too large to fit inside my cute. The biggest issue is the neck board distance from the front, on the one I bought it would poke beyond the back of the cabinet. Well, that was a bust, but perhaps it might fit inside one of those Neo SC19 cabs…

Maybe this is a sign that I should get one of those after all.

Sven666 has nos 17" tubes with chassis. Maybe that will be nice with a bracket adapter?

Perhaps I could reuse the adapter from my cute, but where is this 17" tube located? I would not trust any nordic shipping company with the task of delivering it without harm.

Some photos of the Intervideo tube I have purchased. I have not been able to find the manual for this exact model.

I have also so far failed to produce any image on it. My attempts at connecting it to a 15khz video source was quite the failure. I managed to connect sync to gnd and subsequently made other ill advised mistakes. I’ll have purchase and to wait until proper connectors arrive before attempting any more. I hope i haven’t fried anything on the chassis in my previous attempts.
