versus "style" only. one game per side stated on the ad, no possibility of facing versus but it could be diy mitigated by replacing the innards of course. curious that I never saw it on namco catalogs, maybe a one off for a convention or a short run who knows

some people indeed do funky things like that especially on yaj alas. this being said, in this case, the NAMCO logo doesn't look like a sticker Image
, heck even the coin slot looks authentic.
the price will probably end up beyond reason as usual with arcade curiosities.
at least the seller explains "the monitor doesn't display anything" ...but leaving the buyer in the dark (there are TWO monitors) is something else given the final expense if both are duds.

TAITO 50'' projector cabinet prototype shown at their booth at AOU89.
Apparently they had people test different games on said cab

I used to dream about having one of those RP cabs, but they really did look like **** unless you were sitting that far back. A bunch of cabs at the time had them at my local arcades, I think one of them even had some Killer Inctinct type game on it and PQ also looked worse than a normal cab.

You're absolutely right. Almost all projector cabs I've seen had washed out monitors and they got dull real fast too. Also being japanese cabs, most were probably 2nd hand imported units in the salons I visited to play , as I remember some were already faded day 1. Let's say the projector technology blurred the pixels and added a form of bloom, even on new units, contrast seemed pretty low too.

Added a couple things to wiki. I was wondering about the SNK older "Candy" units: Candy 18, Candy 26 etc.
Candy 26 was advertized as "new version body Candy 26" but catalog name was still just "Candy 26".

'89 ads for ''Candy 18'', which served as previews for ''(new version body) Candy 26'' to be released early '90, didn't make the distinction when showcasing Candy18 (old type "video game" or "new version body"? ) so I was wondering if Candy 18 is just a rejuvenated older Video Game model with minor cosmetic changes (painted line around cab glass disappeared, marquee graphic changed). Btw Candy 18 has an upright version too (added to wiki) just like the older version.
Video game cabs (sitdown & upright) were initially advertized circa 1987 only with rotary joystick games (bermuda triangle & dougou souken/victory road) and didn't specify if the upright version was based on a sitdown + additional base module (a la Jaleco mk II upright version) or not .
