That's a good point. I'm in a bunk bed with my youngest atm; I'll be nurturing a deep hatred for the WW intro. :(

For me it's the soundtrack of twosup cigarettes and fart hadoukens, for him it's the soundtrack of getting up for school.

Groove Coaster. When online it's different each day. Half an hour cycle includes one minute demos of the daily top ten.

Did it just connect right off or did you have to some fancy stuff?

Bit fancy. Special club, special router with special firmware to connect to a special server.

Taito shut down their GC server a couple of months ago, not that you could ever connect to it from the UK.

Result to get it working though 8-)

I've never really had much of a rhythm when it came to music games.

Thanks.

If only I got one a few years ago. It'd have been fun to see what happened in Lockdown 2020.

Mario Kart World. Worth booting just to watch the title screen.

Your favourite character gently cruises around never-ending beautiful sights to a never-ending incredible soundtrack.

My opinion on the gameplay isn't worth anything when I've only played it three times :palm: but however good or bad it is the creative detail is phenomenal. The product of hundreds of artists, generations raised on this brand, given eight years of production time. Each a loving pair of hands qualified to expand the soul of the art. Like the various renditions that drastically transform the hundreds of classic songs - The musicians just get it.

Is there as good an example of this kind of generational development anywhere? I can't think of one. Star Wars?

Anyway, my point is that the MKW title screen is a pure showcase of all that waffle.

I've had Star Gladiator running the background –during the evenings when I'm not playing Star Gladiator 2– just to bask in it's chunky yet plasmic glory. Star quality.

I don't own the arcade originals anymore, but somehow I've now developed a preference to the arcade version's soundtrack for the first game over the PS1 arrangements. Same songs, but the arcade versions just sound more Capcomey. :whoopsie:

Maybe I need to re-buy these.

Emulation's nice when done well
